I installed a new power steering cooler that came with the ER FMIC. They provided some lines and fittings for connecting to the original cooler lines. The other day while driving on the freeway one of the lines popped off of the fitting and I lost all of the fluid. Due to the location of these fittings it is extremely difficult to reattach them with the bumper on or not on a lift/ramps etc., but luckily my belly pan was off so I was able to get an arm under there. I decided that I should just replace both lines to eliminate the need for the fittings altogether. However, when looking at pictures of the factory lines, one of them has a banjo bolt connection that hooks up to the steering rack under the firewall, and the other appears to have what looks like white plastic plugs or connectors on each end.

Can anyone tell me if those white plugs on the ends of the line are just to keep debris out, or if they are some type of connector? I realize that I would have to use a fitting on the line with the banjo bolt but I could at least relocate it to be on the original line somewhere right under the coolant reservoir for easy access. I just want piece of mind that these fittings wont pop off again.
