    Hello there!

sorry if thread like this was before, but couldn't find it with the search. So here is the deal, wanna change my b6 to b8, and I found 2.7 tdi multitronic, but there is like plenty of information that multitronic is breaking very often and my founded car has like 100k miles on the clock. Too afraid for multi problems :< any advice?

Looked quite a lot at multitronic car ads before ruling these out.

In case you are planning to tune your car, this is definitely not a good choice.
Only some of the tuners provide tunes, and those who do limit the torque very much.
Otherwise the gearbox belts will slip and wear out, or something like that.

Also some people have experienced problems with rough behavior of the transmission when the car is some years old, especially in cold weather.
Don't know how usual this is though...

Also multitronic cars are not awd, which sucks once you have tried one. ;)

Multitronics are always FWD, which sucks. Other than that, the new Multi in the B8 is actually pretty good and trouble free. Missing oil changes or towing heavy things with the car are what WILL kill the trans, so don't buy one without comprehensive service history.

The 2.7tdi is also a nice engine. Same problems apply as to the 3.0tdi, like DPF, EGR and intake manifold flap problems.

if ya can you should try and get the 3.0 tdi, lots more powerful and only slightly less economical, i get 48MPG on a highway run which aint to bad, and the tiptronic gearbox is quite reliable, also you get quattro which is awesome
