Torque would not show anything because it cannot access any VAG-specific ECUs like the MMI system (5F).
Carista can, and it should be able to read and clear the same codes that VCDS can. Please check again. If you have a code for an incorrect software version, that cannot be
caused by
Carista and I bet if you had checked with VCDS first, you'd still have that code. Anyway, my point is that
Carista and VCDS should be equivalent in the code reading and code resetting that they can do on the B8. VCDS has the advantage that it also supports older VAG models (even before 2005), but
Carista has the advantage that it's easier and more convenient to use, being a mobile app that connects wirelessly, and also that it's about a tenth of the price of VCDS. Torque doesn't even compare at all because it doesn't do anything VAG-specific; it only has access to the OBD2 system, i.e. just engine and transmission. If you're having issues, please email me at
