    liqui moly engine flush?

Saw this stuff on the shelf at my shop the other day...anyone have any experience with it? Is it snake oil? I think its supposed to be magnetic and bind with shavings etc... You're supposed to run the engine with it briefly then change your oil right after. Thoughts?

    liqui moly engine flush?

I used something similar....didn't change anything in the Avant other than I now have to replace my guides and cams, haha.

*** the engine flush liquid has no direct relation to my possible guide/adjuster failure ***

Seriously though, I used the one in a yellow bottle with a red top (can't remember name but it's in my progress thread), ran it for 5min and then flushed it out. The engine DID run somewhat quieter after the flush, if that means anything.

I've used the amsoil-branded engine flush in a handful of cars before. I did not use it on my S4 though. I used it when switching from mineral to synthetic. My opinion: you'll probably never noticed the difference if it does work, regular oil change intervals should have the same effect, what you're buying is a bottle of piece of mind.

Only needed for neglected engines, and even then I am not a fan of these atom-bomb treatments. Better to just use a quality oil and do a bunch of short-duration changes. Current API specs require excellent cleaning/detergency, so if the car has been getting some semblance of routine oil changes things are probably fine.

Here's the MSDS if you're curious what's in it:

You are probably confusing it with the MoS2 oil/additive that has a plating effect to the cylinder walls.
