    My A6 C6 Slammed

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi all im pretty new to the forum. Bought my A6 about 3 weeks ago and i love it. Owened a S3 and an S4 a little while back but they werent good to me :( nothing but problems! I have always been into my French hot hatch cars and loved a good track day but thought its time to move on, get a decent car and something cheaper to run. I did want an A4 S Line but after seeing this A6 for sale from a mate i couldnt resist.

    * 1 owner from new
    * full audi service history
    * belts and pulleys done 05/2014
    * 12 month MOT
    * 7 month Tax
    * 72k miles
    * DSG box

    The car was standard when i bought it but since owning it i had it remapped. 221.7BHP & 444lb torque. 19" Land Rover alloy wheels and FK Coilovers. Heres a few pics.

    Yes its the cupra splitter. A little too short on the edges but I think it looks better not all the way to the end of the bumper.
    I have 20mm H&R adapters on, wheels have only tucked in at the top because of the camber but I like it like this. Picking up a 2nd set of land rover wheels at the weekend but I will be at VW festival in leeds saturday and sunday of anyone else is going :)

    Couple of little updates :) I ordered a new set of tyres 215/35 19s to go on my new set of land rover wheels I picked up on monday along with some chrome valves. New wheels are in like new condition compared to the battered and welded old set. Also got a nice set of Euro style pressed plates too. No pics yet of the plates on but they look good :)

    I like the look of those landrover wheels. Are they also 5x112 or did you need adapters?

    Yes, black! Matte preferably! Or a dark gunmetal. Chocolate is going to be like that tattoo you got when you were drunk and regret it now, lol!

    I am starting racing in the BRSCC mazda mx5 championship so ideally I need a van (VW Caddy) to carry spares to races and tow the mx5 on a trailer. I dont want to destroy the A6 by filling it with spares and having a tow bar fitted.
    I dont want to sell the car :(

    So i have decided to keep the A6 longer, cant pull myself to sell the car. Just love it too much :D I gave the car a full service yesterday as its due one in about 500mile.

    Mobile super 3000 5w30 Fully synthetic Oil & Filter
    Fuel filter
    Air filter
    Glow plugs
    Front discs and pads

    I had 4 glow plugs that were gone so no idea how the car even started to be honest? runs and drives a load better now tho :) Also today i got round to making a start on painting my wheels and engine cover, just cant decide weather i should do my mirrors or not???

    I love the idea of brown wheels, but I think you have to have quite a spectacular wheel and car to pull them off. Something like the car below with PUR wheels, that are actually more of a dark gold than brown

    In my opinion, the wheel that you have will always look better in the original silver, which I loved on your car. Plus, the brown overspray all over the tire definitely doesnt help.

    But if you like it, that is all that counts.

    Overspray isnt an issue. I have stuff in my tyres so the paint doesnt stick for when I wash the car tomorrow the paint will just come off the tyres. Will update once I have sorted this tomorrow. I went for brown as its different to the usual black or grey.

    Ah, cool.

    I think the car looked pretty good below

    Matching the mirrors to the silver wheels would have looked even better at that point.

    Anyway, I understand the need to go with something different. When your hobby is modding cars, it is hard to stop at any point.

    It nice for a change every now and then or you just get bored, well I do anyway. I was thinking about doing the mirrors brown to match the wheels now to be honest. Nice to find someone who understands instead of moaning and twisting ect... thanks, much appreciated :)

    For sure.

    I think adding more brown to the car exterior in other places will definitely tie the wheels into the complete look.

    My opinion is, any coloured wheels are hard to pull off, unless you have other pieces on the exterior that tie it in. This Porsche is a perfect example
