S6/S7 Real horsepower?

Based on calculators that factor in 1/4 mi ET / trap speed and weight, the S6 should have 470-500hp at the crank! I know APR mentions 480 stock on their website. I'm confused about dyno #s of AWHP due to what particular dyno is used and whatever drivetrain loss that is "estimated". Thoughts?

With 20% power lost factor, it's about 478.8HP at crank. That's pretty much what APR said.

I'd like to know what the real HP is on the RS7. If Audi uses the same "core math" it should be over 600 factory.

According to APR, 582hp stock.

I was told by the dealer (for what that is worth) crank HP is 480 and it is understated as this engine is used in the V8 Bently where it is rated around 490 HP I believe. They did not want to have the HP the same when the car values have a 100G spread. I happened to see a Bently last week and the rear brake light was also lifted from the 7. Who knows how many more common parts. When I did research the 0-60 time listed did not add up as it was too low considering the weight of the car and the HP listed when combared to other cars. Then I found out it was understated.
Next year they raise it to 450 HP I read. Still the same engine.

Thanks for the replies.. Makes sense. Weird that they underrate, unless to keep for cannibalizing S8 sales or agreement w Bentley. Right now BMW 550i is rated at 445hp and 480tq and felt like a heavy pig when I test drove it

So its fairly close on the RS, but way off on the S.

I always thought Audi used a conservative rating on the S since the DSG was only rated to 450.
