Hello, there doesnt seem to be that much information on the 3.0tdi's so i was just wondering what are the modifications that you can do to increase the performance etc? Iv had the car remapped with DNA stage one which has transformed the car! Iv being considering a dpf gutting but not sure due to mot regs. Iv had a look in the air box and jammed the flap at the bottom open, all this seems to have done is increase induction sound slightly along with slightly better mpg.

We don't get the TDI here in the states so as far as mods are concerned there probably won't be much input from our end.

I wish there was a plug-and-play mod for the 2.0T that would give that kind of output. Damn that would be fun.

    What u can do ist:

    1. Stage 1 - REVO are really good with TDI and you will get nice results.
    2. DPF removal - this is not recommended :( depends if the law in your country allows it or not. Here in EU they are strict on Emission.
    3. Milltek exhaust system
    4. Stage 2 REVO

and more :) depends on you badget. U can have also 400 or more hp and over 700 of torque but it cost a lot.

I have 3.0tdi 176kw and I'm going soon for the REVO stage 1. They have now also better prices so call them. You won't be disappointed.

If you want to go all out, your best bet is:
    1.) DPF removal
    2.) New Exhaust
    3.) Uprated FMIC
4.) Tune / remap made for your exact car, not some POS bulk software but made by someone who knows what they're doing.

300hp out of a 3.0tdi is not possible without either compromising EGTs and / or Fuel to Air ratio. If the software is made for maximum power, chances are your lambda will be on the rich side every time to go WOT or maybe even part throttle, which in return means your DPF will get clogged super fast.

A full "mufflerectomy" will remove everything from the Down Pipe rearwards. You can run a Cat but eventually soot will fill the item as mentioned above. I think Bosio builds nozzles but you will have to check around on the EU or UK forums:

    http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/audi-s4...ification.html

    http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/audi-s4...injectors.html

    or here: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/wiki/td...-injector-faq/

I ran Power Plus 520's in my common rail 2001 A4 Bora/Jetta and it made great power. Its a great addition to a chip or other power mod.

Fred's Tdi page is a great place to get some answers quickly: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=332687

I don't know if your A4 3.0 is a common rail or Pumpe Duse. I think VAG went away from PD engines due to wear issues with the cam and followers. The nozzles for the 3.0 are probably as big as you can go already.

    Happy modding!

    ,
All the B8 TDIs are CR, they did away with the PD engines once the B8 came out. The 3.0tdi was also available as a PD engine and the links you posted all deal with the PD version. The CR version can be identified by a 4 letter engine code vs. 3 letters for the PDs. CAPA and CCWA are 176kW 3.0tdi CR engines.

As of today, there are no bigger injectors available for the 3.0tdi unless you fab something really custom from another manufacturer's parts.

Well i was considering a "mufflerectomy" but apparently that seems to cause a drone particularly with the automatics, doesn't seem to be much of a problem with the manual.

    "What u can do ist:

    3. Milltek exhaust system
    4. Stage 2 REVO"

And regarding the dpf delete where the inside of the dpf is removed this will probably be my next move because in the UK the to pass a mot they just need to see the DPF and it will pass

"Here is one example for you http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.u...v6-cr240-capa/"

Luckily the garage which did my remap has just became a dealer for darkside

But regarding the REVO remaps i was considering them but i heard some mixed reviews, I wanted to have a APR remap but the map for my car is only available at america

Try an inexpensive resonator between the first few feet of pipe.

Upsolute and ABT and Oettinger all make a tune for the TDi

I have the B8.5 avant S line with the 180kw (242 bhp) TDi and it is superb. I've fitted black 20" VMR wheels. I did not realise the USA does not get this motor - that's sad! I have ordered a miltek exhaust (with 100mm black tips to match the black everything else) and the ECU will be re profiled by Quantum straight after that. It goes really well now - I expect it to leap after this. 7 speed S tronic and Quattro mandatory for this motor - and I am a manual man (my RS4 keeps that side going).

So jealous of you lucky dogs who get the 3.0TDI, especially in a Avant. It's an amazing engine. I've had short term use of several 2013-2015 A8s including one with the TDI engine and it was by far the best even compared to the big V8s. Loved it. Wanted it but in my Avant. :)
