    Key replacement cost

I have a 2013 S4. My son lost the ignition key. This is one of the main keys. I have the second key and the spare. What is the cost to replace one of these keys? Can the new key be programmed so I can use the second and spare key? I would guess $3-400 would be the ballpark figure on this. Anyway my son will be paying for it. Thanks for those that reply.

You can find replacement keys online for the $200 mark, not sure what the shop near you will charge to activate it to your car.

Plus a TD1, sorry for your loss. :(

Your talking probably around 800 or so from a dealer the expensive part is the fob. Just buy the fob off ebay and buy the key portion from audi and have them cut it. their is no 1 key 2 key 3 keys their is only master keys and spare/vallet key/emergency key. Their is no special slots for each key. You can have them delete keys

Thats still pretty cheap considering though. But is that just for the fob part or both parts?

You can only get them coded by the dealer, no one else can code the keys, unless things have changed, but others have tried.

Replaced one earlier this year key was 260 plus 1hr programing. Totaled 370 I believe. A licensed locksmith can also do this but I've found that they're no cheaper than the dealer except they'll travel to you.
Life has taught me never try to make something idiot proof, they'll simply come up with a better idiot.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

Thanks for all your replays guys. My son lost the key so this will cost him a weeks wages. Anyway, live and learn. I have the spare key an the plastic emergency key which is useless. Hopefully the key will be found as it was lost at a park. Chances are it will stay lost. Anyway....

Called two Audi dealers today for pricing. Both were the same, $404.54 for the replacement key which includes fee to reprogram my existing key. My son is not going to be too happy.
