    CAED vs CPMV

I'm looking to get an oil filter for my 2014 A4. How do I know if it is a CAED or CPMB? The oil filter on the ECS website says its only for the TSI, which mine is a TFSI. I picked up a filter from the dealer but I'm just verifying they gave me the right one. I went outside to look which one came on my car from the factory, but of course the numbers are on the backside so I can't see without unscrewing the filter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

if im not mistaken, TSI and TFSI are the same thing, VW uses TSI and Audi uses TSFI branding.

    You should have the CAED.

Look at the sticker in your trunk or in the front of your manual (if the dealer put it in the manual). The sticker has all the codes for the cars options , including the engine code.

If it's a manual A4 then it's most likely a CAED but if it's an automatic it's most likely not a CAED.

On the sticker I see CPMB. It's an auto quattro btw. Also, the audi dealer looked up the 2014 audi A4's and they said they have two different oil filters for the car. On advanceauto.com's website, it shows the same oil filter for both the CAED and CPMB engines.....I'm not sure what to think.

I'd say bite the bullet, and get the right filter from your Audi Dealer's part counter. You'll be sure to get the right filter, and the cost won't be that much higher so as to justify taking chances with your brand new engine...

I usually find the correct part number and find someone on Ebay selling a lot of the OEM filters. Usually you can find a dealership selling them in lots of 10. That is what I have done with my Tacoma, my Evo, and my previous vehicles.
