I would do 8.5 steering too but its just too damn expensive!

The shift knob and wheels are OEM for those inquiring. ECS tuning sells the pedal sets. I'm not 100% sure about the shift knob.
OEM Flat Bottom Steering wheel is a must over all else. It's expensive but worth it.

Best bang for buck is the pedal set from China for 88,00 shipped...on ebay...quality surprisingly good and its not something you stare at everyday anyway...installed it in 10 minutes too...heard nightmare stories of how its a PITA to do and takes hrs to do, but I just used brute force and slid gas pedal on top of old one and worked each side one at time.

Brake was easy, just pull old one off, and use force to get new one on doing each side at a time.

Dead pedal was harder as you really need to use force to pry old one off as they are held in with like 5 one inch plugs...the dead pedal I just forced on too and it snaps in place...start from bottom and towards lateral firewall...then use the force of your foot...I didn't bother using the clip at top as its being held in there pretty well now.

The gear knob you gotta go OEM cause you don't want to mess around here cause if you screw it up(i.e.-the rod), your gonna need a new gear mechanism at 1100.00...german vendor on ebay sells for 320.00 I believe.

Kivic one costs 300.00 but you can get it on ebay for 200.00 for Korean vendor.

Blendmount is really expensive for our car(130.00) but man is it rock solid....friend just ordered Blendmount for his GTR and it was 80.00.

But that Passport Max is really expensive, not sure if its worth it really.

Like that flat bottom steering wheel but I can't pay 2K+ for it...you can get new wheels and tires for that price.

Bought MMI to 3.5mm jack cable cheap on ebay...there is a 3.5 mm jack on the Kivic...for power you need to run a power kit to passengers side fusebox and have a microUSB on other end...there is a microUSB port on Kivic for power...hardwiring is easy.

Look for my Air Enabler thread for DIY pictures for doing power kit from fusebox to glovebox.

just a FYI if you have your vallet key snaped into its housing in the glove box you might want to remove it from the car. Someone could steal your car with that key.

How did the cheap non audi cable work for the MMI no issues. im looking at getting a usb cable and wanted to make sure those non audi ones work

it's not a valet key, it's an emergency key... the housing is meant to stay in the glovebox and the emergency key stays with you.

yea. I thought it was a vallet emergnecy key also. I just keep the two together and in my safe so i dont loose them hehhee The housing isnt much good without the key lol

do not try to use this product to airplay mirror if you buy a Kivic..it will not work...wishful thinking on my part...MMI to video/audio composite cable doesn't work...you are going to have to tap into the harness on back of MMI which is obviously not a easy thing to do.

Does anyone here have any experience adding video such as back up or forward camera to the MMI system??????????

Can you show me with a pic with your cable and Kivic to MMI port?...you get my Kivic airplay mirroring to work with my iPhone 5S and I will paypal you 20.00 no joke haha....I have spent hrs trying to figure out how to do this...so you are using airplay mirroring with your phone???...I tried a composite(red,white,yellow plug) to MMI cable and MMI didn't recognize it...so what am I doing wrong?...hmmm.

Richi helped me realize the reason Airplay Mirroring didn't work for me was because I have a 8.0 car and he has 8.5 car...guess 8.5 cars can recognize video input but 8.0 cannot...back to drawing board!

50.00 bounty for anyone who can help me figure out a reasonable way to retrofit video capability on a 8.0 car!...

I think it can be done...with these products below...one from UK and other from China off of ebay....actually Xcarlink said the unit in pic won't work...we need NTCS and not PAL...but they do sell a product very similar to the one in pic that will work according to them.

Agree with you it has to be an install and done right...I am finicky too...Kivic is 200.00 and Xcarlink roughly 300.00...so 500.00 and a lot of hassle and time is what it will take.

Why can't we just Y-split off the DVD video/audio outputs? Is the DVD output just internal to the entire MMI head unit or something? You'd figure that if you could have two systems outputting video/sound to the DVD side of things, all you'd have to do is select DVD and just make sure you're not pushing data out the two devices at once. I know it's kid of rigging it, but if the RCA splitter cables are available, technically speaking, it should be a clean plug-n-play thing.

yes, just buy a Kivic One and then you need that MMI to composite video cord I showed as a pic above on this thread...its like 15.00...now I haven't tested it myself as I have 8.0 car but Richi above says it works for him fine.
