Best Exhaust for that V8 grumble?

I like the stock exhaust on my 08 S5, but I want something louder to scare the lil' chilrens and make the womens swoon.

I want to keep the V8 deep grumble and not go to a higher pitched racy sound. Suggestions? I was thinking Remus, but it sounds like it might actually be quieter than stock based upon reviews and vids. I'm not asking for NASCAR loud, but a meaner and deeper is the goal.

Thoughts?

I'll be buying soon too. I'll install the rear sway while I wait for the exhaust and probably a short shifter as well. I love this car.

And raf's car had earsplitting drone, courtesy of being as loud as a straight piped harley. My car barely droned.

Best to start with the catback and add downpipes later if not enough.

Also note that all AWE exhausts do away with the valves (not too sure that is applicable to the S5 though).. So with the Track or Track Extreme it is gonna sound pretty beefy and loud most the time.

I have the AWE with the DP, excellent choice. I have plenty of other car enthusiast come up to me saying how much they love the note from my pipes. ;)

If AWE Tuning was not 45 mins from my house I would get them from Mops cause he flex his muscle like no other brotha.

AWE track w/down pipes ,Milltek, Akrapovic ,really you cant go wrong with any of them. I got the milltek on my rs5 and it ran me $3k with installation and all, so for the price maybe just go with AWE.

I have the AWE touring catback and it sounds amazing! It has a good rumble when you get on it, but mellow when you are cruising, and very low drone. I am looking for a tad bit more sound, so will probably hit up AWE soon about the non-res downpipes.

I actually am curious though. The RS 5 engine note is very low pitched compared to many other flat-crank V8s of similar displacement with similar rev limits.

The JHM exhaust sounds amazing... No matter what exhaust you do, adding JHM catpipes or test pipes will REALLY make a difference.

My current setup is JHM cat pipes --> Miltek non res DP --> AWE Touring exhaust

For what it's worth, I have AWE Track, and absolutely love it. The burble and crackle of the exhaust is something I never thought I'd experience on a german car. I highly suggest going with the Track, and if anything, add the downpipes later. Good luck!

That's exactly what I did. Ordered the AWE Track through Mops a week or so ago. Hopefully it will ship in the next few days. Fingers crossed.
