Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Does anyone know of a good car wash place? I want to do a detail on my car and I want to check with guys first before going into any car wash place in the area. I'm in Flushing Queens.

    Thanks

I'd say sonic hand wash is probably the best place besides doing it yourself. Best time to go would be morning before the water turns dirty from all the cars during the day. It's actually more like long island on Jericho turnpike between little neck parkway and cross island pathway. It's low car and wheel friendly and they have package deals to get unlimited washes, well no more than one per day but still worth it if you wash your car at least once a week.

Theres a small spot in Astoria on 31st ave and Newtown rd. They do decent wash jobs if your not washing yourself. I wash my car myself now to keep the swirls down but if I wasn't the two places I would go are sonic and this place. I think its called Astoria auto detail. As far as detail, I would suggest you make another thread or search. These car wash places wont do a very good job "detailing" the car compared to someone who knows what they are doing.

x2. Best place to go expecially if your modded and lowered. They really care about cars there.

The Sonic wash is 10 mile away from my home. They better be good, worth driving down there.

Semi automatic. It's a conveyer belt that pulls the car along so no touching the wheels and low car friendly (need at least one inch clearance). They spray the car down first then hand wash, rinse, spray wax, rinse, blow dry, then pull the car out and vacuum, tie shine and blow out all the drippies with compressed air. You gotta make sure the go around and blow it out because some of the lazy guys will skip that part. They have another location now at Rockville center.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like a super duper car wash, but it's good for a quick 20-30 min hand car wash, dry, vac, tires (that's if you don't have a line to wait on). Just like any other car wash it can swirl your paint. I like to go during the week because lines are short if any. The weekend you can some times expect a 30 minute wait just to get the car in, then another 20-30 just to get the car out.

Ok, I took my car there this morning. First time with hand wash. I asked for the leather cleaning & conditioning. They spent 20 mins to finish my car.

Well, they are hand wash. But the car is not spotless. I guess I have to do it myself to be 100% satisfaction. I paid $50 for the wash, cleaning & leather cleaning/conditioning.

The guy in the front seems to be new because he gave me the wrong pricing on the leather cleaning & conditioning.

Should have came to Astoria. They only work on 2 cars at a time and there are no machines. Again, sonic is decent but I feel this place is better. (I don't use either anymore, I wash my car every weekend to keep swirls at a minimum). However if I had to use a place I would go to either of them. If I had to choose, I would pick Astoria detail center.
