Audi center caps on aftermarket rims

I am getting AG M590 rims (19x9.5 et40) installed this week and prefer to have an Audi center cap to keep that OEM look. I have the OEM 18s. Will those caps work, or do I need to purchase new ones? And what about lug bolts, will my existing ones work?

AG wheel requires conical lugs which are different from ball seated OEM lugs. You can purchase them from AG for about $50 per set. Not sure about the caps.

OEM caps don't fit on my M590s
Would love to see if there's an Audi cap that does and looks right.

Got Audi center caps for both of my sets of aftermarket wheels from Discount Tire, which is where I bought the wheels.

I actually recently purchased a set of M310's myself. They are currently being powder coated, since I went with a custom finish. From what I've been told, aftermarket wheel company used to make center caps with the car company's logo (i.e. - Audi, VW, etc.), but a large legal action prevented this from occurring any longer. I've seen historical reference to some companies (including AG) that made replicas that fit their wheels.

With that being said, the OEM wheel cap size for 19" on a B8.5 S4 (I only know this because I had inquired) was 63mm if I recall. The AG center cap for 19" wheels is 68mm. Not sure if this is different for larger/smaller wheels.

I know some people have crafted their own versions.

If you got the standard 590 satin silver with some parts machined the AG cap might look better & im also a OEM plus kinda guy. What I mean is with the AG590 the center cap on that color really blends in nicely making your eye not attract to it. It's like the exact same color but plastic. If you put a OEM type cap it will be a different color & sorta stick out. Here's two examples I'll also link this thread where this member used a OEM type cap. You can see it's more titanium color. Either way looks good, and as noted I'm also a OEM+ kinda guy.

Here's this thread with multiple pictures of OEM type caps on. Can't go wrong either way.

Although the from this angle they blend in pretty good .

Audi center caps on aftermarket rims

I just realized how old this thread is lol. He said right on page 2 he uses the 19" OEM peeler caps with silicone to make them fit.....

You probably won't find a cap that just snaps in, silicone idea sounds like a perfect idea . I'd just buy the same size as the OEM peelers take in a replica in case one ever falls out. As the OEM ones are expensive but still just regular plastic. Most guys get them in Amazon or eBay.

These or same size of your choice and clear silicone to act as tab on the inside as he mentioned for a snug fit.

Thanks, I'll buy the $26 ones from eBay. Does anyone know how to remove the AG center cap? And what silicon to use?

here is the DIY I have posted before to make your own caps

    1. take oem audi center caps and snap off the tabs and remove the metal ring.
    2. peel machined aluminum AG center cap off its base. its only affixed with double sided tape.
    3. glue audi center cap onto the AG base
    4. snap newly grafted oem audi cap with AG base onto m590 wheel.
    5. enjoy you AG wheel with oem audi center cap!

note that i had the base of the AG cap is drilled out in order for the cap to sit flush and not interfere with the wheel hub nut. AG will supply them predrilled upon request.
    read about it here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...flush-and-snug

^^ So this didn't work. The AG center caps are 67 mm and these I ordered from eBay are 70mm. So they don't fit and are not flush with the wheel. I haven't driven with them on, but sure they'll pop right out when driving. So I destroyed the original AG caps when doing this DIY project, and now need to spend $100 to buy four more from AG. Maybe I can find an Audi sticker to put over the AG. But otherwise, this was an epic fail and waste of time...
