    BMW M4...NOT Impressed at all!

Hey guys, I was driving home and while passing my local BMW dealer they were off-loading a new M4. My opinion on the car was that it wasn't that impressive. Looked very similar to the 335i m-sport with a few more aerodynamic pieces. I was considering this vs. the RS5 but seeing it live made my decision even easier! RS5 come to daddy!! What do you guys think? Anyone considering getting one?

I saw one on the street yesterday. Agree with OP that it doesn't strike me as much as seeing a RS5 for the first time. This comment is just for looks. I'm sure performance is a different story.

Drove a black M4 today. Walked away slightly disappointed (the other person who drove it before me was also not that enamored)...I'm probably going to cancel my order. In black, the car really does look like a 435i with a M sport package. When I saw it pulling up, I literally could not tell the difference until it was close enough to see the M badge on the grill. The M3 on the other hand is much more aggressive (BMW widened the fenders on the M3 but not the M4 for whatever reason).

Driving wise the M4 felt like any other BMW turbo engine just with loads more torque which is to say it's good but lacks the charisma of a more exotic engine. The sound felt artificial and really only came alive at 4k rpm and up at which point I was shifting around 5.5k-6k since there was no reason to take it to redline. (If you've driven Audi's 3.0T V6 you'll know what I'm talking about). I also found the TC to be fairly intrusive even in Sport Plus+

Overall after I drove the RS5 (and the S4) I knew immediately that I wanted the car. After driving the F30 335i, the M235i, and now the F82 M4, I just don't feel that excited? Maybe it's just me...

That's exactly was my impression yesterday. It felt like tuned 335i the sound inside the cabin is artificial and it didn't give me the feeling of M car. On the good side the Seats were better than the Rs5 and so does the slandered brakes. It is an excellent daily driver but not enough for me to feel I'm driving something special. I will be going for another test drive next week and will see if it will prove me wrong.

My exact thoughts, I drove a black one also! Was not impressed with both the looks, sound, and interior.... Glad I went with the 15 rs5
