BEWARE: German Car Specialists by Two Square in Calgary, Alberta

Has anyone else had bad experience at this shop? I had my 25,000km service done there on my 2012 Audi S4 and had a pretty bad experience. Upon getting in my car I noticed a greasy/oily smell in my interior. Gave everything a wipe and drove with my windows down for two days to air it out. When I got home I popped the hood to check the oil level and noticed the tech had spilled oil over my engine cover and around the oil filter and didn't bother to clean it up. Here's the even worse part. Next morning I notice a puddle of oil under my car where I park at night. Suspected either leaking from the drain plug or oil filter. Brought it back today and they fixed their work.

Talked to my father's friend today who said Royal Oak Audi gets a ton of people bringing their cars in to fix the work done by German Car Specialists. Glad I didn't have any major work done here.

Needless to say, will not be going back.

My first question is why have your 25K service down there? Assuming you bought the car in Calgary both dealers included Audicare with the car instead of discounting the purchase price. I see in your siggy that you are also GIAC stage II but you wont get TD1'd when doing basic maintenance. I have been flashed since 10K and had my last 2 scheduled maintenances done while stage II with no flag.

I do appreciate the post though and will stay away from here if I need not warranty work done.

Stage 2 is the reason I stay away from the dealer, not worth getting flagged if I don't have to.

I hear Tunedub is the place to go in Calgary for Audi. Takes 3 weeks to get in usually but have heard nothing but good stuff so far

Yup Tunedub or Calgary Auto Works are the way to go for sure.

I know some will ref lash their car to stock when taking it to the dealer. Then re-flash their tune afterwards.

Yep this is what I do regarding reflashing. Tunerworks does the flashing for me and charge me minimum one hour each way, sometimes two hours. A bit crazy but better than losing warranty. This includes the TCU flash and the ECU flash.

Funny you mentioned Calgary Autoworks, I have been recommended to go with them as well. After speaking with Colin I decided to go with them for the install of my Accuair system. I emailed a few companies but no one even responded to my email except for Calgary Autoworks. Should have it installed within a few weeks!

I called Tunerworks to do my 2013 shifter install and to install my supercharged badges but they wouldn't do either. Didn't want to take liability for possibly messing up the shifter install since it requires some modification and didn't want to do the badges in case I didn't like how they did it. Tunedub is doing both installs for me this week. George said it was no problem.

This being said Tunerworks has helped me through some problems with my AWE exhaust and they did a good job on my stage 2. They're pretty good over there but just seem to prefer to stay away from certain jobs which Tunedub has no problem doing.

Tunerworks, in my opinion, is overpriced on almost everything. Speak to Mantis on the forums as he also has a B8 S4 and is pretty knowledgeable. Also if you are a paid member of eurodrivers both Tunedub and CAW will give you discounts ;)

Update on my situation with these guys. Went to do my oil change today myself (first one since these guys touched it).

First thing I notice, they have replaced my stock drain plug with a standard bolt rather than the OEM Torx head. No crush washer just a standard washer. Now what I'm wondering is did they cross thread the OEM drain plug and tap new threads or did they just wreck the torx head and replace with a standard bolt of the same thread size. Guess I won't know until my next oil change when I try to buy a new drain plug from Audi.

Could not get the damn oil filter housing off they must have torqued that thing like 80lbs-ft. It's only supposed to be around 20. Had to get the 36mm socket and crank on it to crack it loose. Was not fun had to get a ride half way through the oil change to get the socket (could not crack with a huge adjustable wrench).

Thanks for posting your experience there. It's always good to have heads up advice on places like that.
