    Audi Ring LED Emblems

Before some of you say how ricer this looks, take note that it looks real clean on the mercedes and above all, it's to each own's preference.
    [/

Having said that, check out some of the Audi LED rings. This link shows an Ibis White with them and it looks pretty clean. I know there's a lot of former ricers on here, but I don't think this compares. It's not like we're trying to add club lights and a mirror ball underneath the car.

    Does anyone here have these?

I think it looks ok with the light accenting the badge. Think it looks real cheap when the rings themselves illuminate (like the white A4 in the link you provided, not sure how that would look during the day)

i would be interested in seeing how they look running as daytime running lights.

I know Mercedes started doing it but, it still looks like an Autozone special.

Mercedes also offers a less-than-exciting ride, but that doesn't mean I would want the same for my Audi...

I anticipated getting criticism and I welcome it, however, let's be honest, you guys don't think it looks good on the ibis white in the link? If not, I respect that, but I think it looks pretty cool.

Plus, whereas the OP also has the Audi puddle lights, this modification is overkill.

The difference is the DRL's look like quality, while these illuminated rings look like eBay indiglo gauges.

I mean, even in the pictures, there isn't a uniform light disbursement. The light in the rings have hot-spots. That alone is enough to turn me off.

To clarify, I think if these were designed and available as an OEM option, it would look pretty cool - but because they'd be elegantly designed (like the Benz).

But there's a night and day difference in the appearance of quality between the Benz OEM option, and these.

I guess if you're trying to make your car look like a chintzy Mercedes go ahead, you'd need more chrome to finish the look though

this. IMO, the illuminated rings lack the class and finesse I would expect from an OEM option like the Benz.

I see what you're saying about those lights being uneven but that's not the way it looks in these pics https://www.google.com/search?q=audi...iw=360&bih=615

Also, my puddle lights are not on display. They aren't even visible when I open my door in the daylight. They are merely visible for about ten seconds when I get out of my car at night, so I think the overkill may be a bit extreme. Now, you were right however, about the quattro badge, name goes here. I saw it your way, but this is a bit different.

Look at the forest instead of the trees.

When you see the car from a distance, it looks aggressive with the LEDs shining like an angry pair of eyes. You add the emblem to that, and it looks like an angry pair of eyes with a big Rudolf nose. It takes away from the aggressiveness. With the Merc star they seem to make it pretty subtle so it might work, it's hard to say. The Audi rings on those sites thought... way too bright.

OEM and elegantly designed? They're just rings with LEDs. I don't think you can get very elegant when it comes to design. As long as they are the same as the rings we already have, that's good enough.

I do see the Rudolph nose. I agree with you. I would want to use one or the other, but not both. I would go for these or the DRLs during the day.

I could see how the four rings could look classy and subtle if illuminated from behind, thus displaying the outline of the rings instead of the rings themselves.

No. Even on the Benz it looks like a 16 year old boy got a hold of it and went to the ricer section and Pep Boys. It looks very unclassy and dumb. Seems like people are always looking for a way to outdo everyone else, when unstated elegance is the best looking...

i do think the merc one looks pretty good, akin to the illuminated sill plates. But something doesn't sit right with me on the audi rings; maybe its the shape of the rings outline or the angles it creates, i dunno. I'll pass; but its a good conversation piece for you :)

the benz one looks a bit cleaner since it's OEM, obviously better quality than the aftermarket Audi ring ones. but also you have to understand the Benz logo is a totally different shape and theres a difference lighting that up as they did vs having glowing/light up Audi rings, its not as subtle.

i dont think its too bad but personally i wouldnt unless it was meant to be all flashy and showcar-like, but otherwise it may seem a bit tacky, especially with too many lights. and if there was an OEM option from Audi like this i'd prefer if it was a subtle glow behind the grille where it sort of outlines the rings, but not the actual rings themselves made up of the light.

like here it looks decent, the light doesnt look too bright or clashing:

but then something like this to me looks too tacky and in your face:

I am only trying to help you, honestly.

I think it is great that you are taking the initiative to make your Audi different, but you don't want to make it ****that**** different that it stands out - and not in a good way. Look, for my Audi, for most of the modifications people couldn't even tell because the are largely interior modifications or accessories and they are all OEM - but that is the way I like it - and would rather not attract unwarranted attention. Ultimately, as I noted about the quattro badge, this is your car, you are the one driving it, and you need to be happy; we're merely here to give you advice.

That Merc photo is probably airbrushed too. I bet it doesn't look quite the same in real life.

Looks sweet for some sort of night light in the kids room but just cries out cheap ricer look to me. I personally like my Audi to keep the classy under the radar sorta look. To each his own!
