    White Upstream Oxygen Sensor

    Hi all,

Got a 17511 P1103 Bank 1 Prob 1 heating circuit: output too low

Replaced my front O2 sensor to find it looking like this. Dafuq

I used LiquiMoly gasoline additive before for valve cleaning, and I am now using meth injection, could either cause this? Not sure of any silicone poisoning that could have happened. My plugs had white ash on them when removed a couple hundred miles ago. I just don't want this happening to the new sensor if it is avoidable.

    Thanks

Any ashy deposits on plugs/o2 sensors indicates oil or fuel additives being burned in the combustion process. Seeing as you added an additive, that would be your culprit.

You also mention your plugs having ash on them? Was that before or after the additive?

Hi Bordom thank you for your response. The ash on the plugs was after use, I have used the fuel additive only once on the new plugs and will monitor the status of my O2 sensor over the next couple thousand miles. Pretty sure that was the culprit as well, despite looking similar to silicone poisoning. For future reference, the product used was Liqui Moly Valve Clean.

Try using Seafoam instead to clean out the carbon deposits. I've used it, and it works wonders. Be careful of the giant carbon cloud your car will spew after doing it; the neighbors won't be too impressed

Ok I put in the new O2 sensor but just got the same code again

17511 P1103 Bank 1 Prob 1 heating circuit: output too low

Can W/M injection cause this code? And just to note I also got the CEL code for SAI incorrect airflow detected if that means anything.

I'm thinking W/M causes lower EGT which makes the upstream O2 sensor all confused when trying to heat up.
