Lower door trim on the cheap?

I've been looking for lower door trim for the front and back doors of my B5 on the passenger side on the cheap ever since I got the car. I can't seem to find it cheap, anybody know where I can get it? I've checked ECS, but it's too expensive for my liking.
There's probably an installation thread somewhere around these parts. I have heard that there is no way to remove the trim without breaking it.










There's a bunch of rusty shit under the broken part of trim, only confirmed on the passenger side. I'm not sure if that'll affect anything though.

And, if anybody knows of a scrapyard that has B5 A4/Passats around a couple hours from DC please PM me.

They are all rusted out, even out here in Colorado. Its a bad design by Audi.

These are dealer only. No other cheaper options. And I will bet in a very short amount of time they will be no longer available. I'm sure they aren't making these things anymore. Buy all 4 now while you still can.

Ouch! I'll look into that, It does suck that you can only remove them by breaking the damn thing. I'll try to scoop a set up.

shave it and run a vinyl strip if you don't want to paint your doors.

I agree with above. The universal adhesive trim solution is a good one if you don't want to pay for new moldings or paint. Probably best on a darker car, but could be done on any if executed well.

My earlier post assumed the OP was just wanting cheaper access to OE replacement moldings. Just wanted to point out that there are no aftermarket sources and even the genuine source is probably not guaranteed for much longer.

X2 one of my b5s has this or similar it's like a big vinyl strip 3m taped on, you cant really tell the difference

I bought my car and it was missing one of these moldings, bought the ecs ones, fit perfect, no complaints. The color matches perfectly, you would never know three of the moldings are 13 years only and the on they one a few months. Buy the ecs. You won't find a good used set.

Dealer price is like 50 a piece..

HOLY HELL!!! They jacked the price up significantly within the last month. It was around $189 just last month. I know because I was thinking about replacing all 4 on my car and buying the kit but decided against it and just bought the drivers side front door piece for $70

Yeah, I was expecting them to be an easy and cheap fix. Then I go to ECS, and realize that isn't happening anytime soon.

No idea on quality but price seems good.

I am now thinking to remove mine altogether, sort out rust underneath and vinyl strip as a replacement (my paint skills are rubbish).

I bought a new set of 4 off of ebay about half a year back for approx. $160. They came with the clips, and, unlike most ebay items, were good quality.
