Does Audi MMI charge the iphone 5S?

Quick question for someone out there who may know the answer as Google has yielded mixed results.

Will the Audi MMI connector cable charge the iPhone 5S? The cable that came with the car does not fit my iPhone (need a lightning cable adapter) so I can't test it out. However, before I go out and buy an adapter, I want to know whether or not it will actually charge the phone as this would likely affect my decision to even go out and get one.

Yes, but slowly. I don't know if its 0.5 or 1 amp, but if you are using the iphone for nav it basically charges enough to keep it at the same battery level. If you need to charge it quickly, get a cigarette lighter adapter. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088U6OZY

yep it does charge with the lightning adapter cable. I use a cig adapter instead to charge, get the kensington one, it will clear the ashtray door when the cable is unplugged.
