B7 A4 : Eibach pro kit vs sportline springs

    Hi Guys

Recently purchased a B7 A4 and considring lowering the car a little. Dont wanna do the whole coilover thing as the car is used as a daily drive and a family car. I want to however lower car slightly slightly and have been considering either the eibach pro or sportline kits (springs only). I find the H&R springs too hard. Is there any major differences between the two ?

Any one here installed both and found major differences ? any advice on which of the two would give a better drop without comprisong ridre quality ?

    Thanks in advance.

If it is a DD you def shouldn't run the sportlines too low. I DD my car and I run stock sport springs on bilstein sport struts/shocks and I had the perch snap groove in the front struts machine 1" lower to give the car a forward rake. Could my spring be stiffer sure but then I wouldn't be able to DD the car without major damage to something.

I have the Eibach Pro Kit, my car is a DD and roads around here are pretty crappy... Very happy with the height of the car with these springs. I could have done better with the shocks though.

Do you have a sport suspension, or non-sport? I would not recommend running these springs with non sport shocks. With sport shocks, maybe, but I'm not sure. Considering the job to install the springs, grab some Koni yellows and replace everything. If you are really worried about ride comfort, you can grab some Koni FSD but as some have mentioned in a few posts, they're a bit bouncy. I like my setup, but if I ever need to replace the shocks, I'm going with yellows...

Here's my car as it sits right now...

Thanks guys... dont wanna spend to much, shocks here are crazy , springs only for now, either the eibach pro kit or sportline. Just trying to get a feel for which of the two. @ Acme , your car looks just right. I dont think ill get thatlook with the springs only.

Ride height will be the same... If you don't swap the shocks, IMHO it'll be bouncy and I'm not sure you'll like it, and you will shorten the life of the shocks as they're not designed for this. You can get Koni yellows for what, 400$?

I run the FSD/Eibach kit, I would describe it best as OEM+, You get a perfect drop for performance, you won't scrape on everything or be slammed, but you aren't 4x4 status, the top of the wheel is pretty much flush on a horizontal plane with the tires. I think its a good looking stance.

In terms of performance, its not so stiff that its uncomfortable to daily, Its stiff when you need it to be, and forgiving when you cruise, and for the price well its quite a good buy.

I would buy it again, or as Adam stated, the ST coilovers seem to be a popular option with lots of good reviews.
