Audi Connect PIN - re enter constantly????

Does anyone else have to continuously re-enter their Audi Connect pin into the MMI each time they try to use their Audi Connect system????? It gets kind of annoying, being as I don't have it committed to memory....

Does this happen even if the MMI is fully initialized? You have to wait until it finishes initializing. If you access the feature too soon, it will prompt for the PIN. It's usually safe to access the feature once the MMI has established the Bluetooth connection to your phone.

I have had it happen a few times but not very often and not in a while. I keep a copy of the PIN in my glovebox in case it does. Sucks when it happens while driving to a destination you want to retrieve from online destinations.

To my earlier post. This should only happen if the feature is accessed too soon. What I do in that case is back out of it and give it another minute or so and then try again. I never actually had to reenter the PIN again.

Had it happen at least one after driving for more than 10 minutes, so I don't think it was due to accessing the feature too soon. Tried over and over and nothing got it going again until I got home and re-entered PIN. Now just keep PIN in the car in case it comes up again.

Same here - I'm going to speak to the dealer about it. There HAS to be an issue. It's not safe and could be a real problem.

I just had this happen this week and I called audi on it. They said that if it's not used very often then it will require a pin. I asked how often do I need to us it and they said "probably" once every two weeks. Hope this helps.
I keep pin in the notes of my phone now.

^ This is correct; after non-use for an extended time frame, it prompts you to re-enter the PIN.

This explanation makes a lot of sense as I do not use it that often and was traveling a lot (by plane not driving) for work when it happened so I probably went weeks without using it. I probably use it just often enough now that out of town travel has stopped so that's why I haven't had it happen in a while.

I signed up for the new myaudi website and a new pin was generated. Now I can't access destinations I sent to the car from google maps or even the mmi connect app for smartphones. I need to enter the new pin but the car won't prompt me to enter it, lol I wish it did prompt me once a week.

How do you reset those things. I removed my phone from the Bluetooth memory in the mmi but it didn't work.

Go to main menu, then Setup MMI (top right corner)

I have always had to enter the PIN on the A6, even after turning it off for 10 minutes. Not good. That is not the case with my S5, where I entered it once since I have had it.
