Just put this on a few weeks ago. The sweep is a touch smaller than OEM, but looks excellent and doesn't chatter like the 10 year old original. Sweet mod.

It's a bit of a stretch to say it's the same thing. One is from China, the other is from Germany. Not saying you can't save a few bucks but at least start a new thread, ECS is a forum sponsor.

thats where ecs gets theirs, i guarantee it. wanna pay 30 extra for a forum sponsor? i dont really care if they are. they will charge shipping too. do you have money to waste? i dont. no offense.

if they chime in and say that this isnt where they get theirs and that the one they sell is somehow waaay higher quality then ill eat my old allroad wiper and buy theirs and become an ecs fanboi

ah well i dont think ecs has tact marking up their items like that. and yes, your wiper was most likely made in china. do you know how rich the owners of ecs are btw? tact? come on.

I don't think it's marked up more than standard, it's a genuine part which will come from the source for a higher price than a chinese knock-off.

This is also not about how the owners of ECS have created a successful business. They have chosen to advertise in a way that directly benefits you. Perhaps you have something against ECS in which case everything I'm saying is in vain.

only that their prices are pretty high for items like this. ill let you know how bad the quality is when i get my wiper from hong kong.

oh and is there an audi logo on your part? i noticed the 'manufacturer' is ESC as listed on their website. hmm. wouldnt they list it as manufactured by vw/audi if it were a 'genuine part'?

The manufacturer isn't listed because their is more than one manufacturer for the three parts that come in the kit.

It says made in Germany lol.

Technically ECS themselves needed to chime in, I'll let you off on that technicality ;)

I have a Hong Kong headlight switch and I like it, I just didn't post about it on a forum sponsor's thread. I'm sure you'll enjoy your wiper, it really updates the look.

    DUDE!!
That spoiler tho!!! Where do I get one? I'd rock that.

FWIW - the actual wiper part? Yoou might as well eat it. If it's a cheap chinese part it will not wipe water off a ducks back. I bought two pairs of cheap Aero wipers from china. Awesome! Profit!!
They sucked SO bad. SO BAD.
Replaced with OEM at 3X the price (but still less than ECS sells them for)..worth it.

I made it! It's in it's second prototype phase, while the allroad collects dust in the garage this winter (as seen above) I'll be finalizing, making molds and finally the first 'production version' out of carbon.

I'll hook you up with one when they're ready.

I don't have any great pictures of it: *please note the very beautiful, GENUINE aero rear wiper, courtesy of ECS Tuning

hey if ecs doesnt want to be competitive with pricing then they deserve it. i own a business that is bound by competitive pricing. so i get told all day long that someone else is lower priced. im used to it. it doesnt bother me anymore. whatever. the ironic part is that we are not priced high for what we offer. not that ironic.

btw your car has made me want to dip mine.

Sounds like a bundle of fun! I know some people thrive in that environment.

Appreciate the compliment, it's a vinyl wrap in case you mistook it for dip. Either way I really like the matte/satin look.

what did the wrap cost if you dont mind? and is your rear bumper dirty or damaged in those pics? also did you wrap the flares? that stuff is durable i suppose? how did you get the bumper line detail with wrap? i like the body color on the bumper and the matte look too. shows off the contours real nice. also did you just stick the emblems on the wrap?

    •just under $400 I materials.
•the rear bumper in that picture is the last panel from my first wrap three years ago, I was really rough on it and it faded.
•the flares are factory paint (there I three paint codes depending on body color for allroad two-tone.
•very durable as long as you don't take abrasives to it like I did when washing, no hard scrubbing allowed. Stand up very well to just about anything else. Definitely anything that normally occurs on a road.
•my 'rear valence' was simply taped out (frog tape FTW) and plasti-dipped. I'm currently working on a rear bumper for the allroad with a tasteful and realistic rear diffuser insert made of carbon.
•thank you very much, I did have full body wrap at first the first time I wrapped (sans roof, never wrapped that) but I removed the flare wrap after a few weeks because the two tone accentuated the widebody.
•the biturbo emblem and rings are indeed on top of the vinyl just like normal badging.

If you're on Instagram I go pretty in-depth with my build: @fourings (one 'r')

cool. i assume you wrapped it yourself? was it hard? did you wrap it with all the body parts on the car?

It's not too difficult, if you can learn how the vinyl reacts and have lots of patience it'll turn out well. I removed front and rear bumpers, license plate tub, flares, grille and turn signal repeaters.

IDK, ive owned many cars in my lifetime and have never had a rear wiper so having the one on my Avant is a super luxury that I really rarely use.
Not to mention it wipes half way stops then goes the rest of the way and is super slow, I think the motor is going out.

I mean yeah its nice I guess but when I'm burning rubber who cares whats behind me

That was a joke, I have a 2.8L seriously though I can barely see out of my rear window(5% tint) as it is im really just thinking about deleting the rear window wiper instead of "upgrading" it.

    Just my thought process.

Apparently this is my build thread now, sorry Jason.

How euro of your, Carlos. Rear wiper delete is definitely a thing. Simply remove the arm and the guts and throw a cap on top. A search will yield the correct diameter tube end blanking cap.

    Definitely not from China :)

But that's not whats being debated. It's whether or not this kit we sell is made it Germany. And it most definitely is.

Definitely. Still no chatter. I change my blades in Spring every year regardless of use or signs of wear and the original arm and blade chattered often, still no chatter from the new.
