    Bad CCM?

I installed new front door speakers about 6 months ago. Yesterday, went back to add some fat mat and along the way, I must have pinched a wire, because I blew the door fuse and it kept blowing. I pulled the speakers and checked wiring, looks ok and fuse holds now. My doors lock and unlock but no control release, sunroof, or windows . Ran a scan and got the following:

I reset codes a few times, steering angle sensors is a function of a battery reset. A few modules call out the ccm and the ccm calls out the doors. I did not touch the rear doors...which is leading me back to the ccm. Which brings me to my next question...where is it? I believe it's under the drivers seat...but want to make sure before I rip out the seat and carpet.

    Thanks.

Found it, bone dry...car lives in a garage. My fear is that I fried it with the pinched wiring problem.

Fixed...fuse #20 blew. Not sure when that happened, checked fuses multiple times. It was just the door fuse initially, but I blew the ccm fuse too.

That was my problem. A few other modules called out CCM too (HVAC and steering wheel). I checked fuses a few times, but missed the CCM and started tracing wires. Once continuity checked good, found the fuse. Trouble shooting skills sucked that day.

    For a new fob: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/car...-matching.html

For a previously paired fob: insert key into ignition rotate key to on, do not start. Press unlock a few times. Remove key from ignition and check operation. CCM must be full operational for FOB to work.

01330 - Central Control Module for Central Convenience (J393)
    37-00 - Faulty
A blown fuse will cause a "No communications" DTC reported by other controllers. The DTC 01330 is specifically an internal fault in the Comfort Convenience Module, not a power supply/No comms fault. The CCM has power, or there could be no internal fault recorded.

To remedy code 01331 - Faulty CCM I had to replace the module. It fixed my code, my key fob now works, as to ALL the interior buttons and switches.

Pull the part number of your current module and check out ebay. I got mine for just over $100.

my key fob still wont lock/unlock i followed ross tech adaptation and did it a few times also replaced the battery in the remote.. could it be because the antenna?

    Did you do this procedure?

    Adaptation

    Channel 000: Remote Control Clearing

This Adaptation Channel is used to clear all matched Remote Controls. This is often necessary prior to matching new remotes.

    Channel 021: Remote Control Matching

    [Select]
    [46 - Central Convenience]
    [Adaptation - 10]
    Channel 021.
    [Read]

Choose the memory position you want the new key be matched on by entering it's number (e.g. "3" for memory position 3). Make sure to TYPE IN the number instead of scrolling up to it, otherwise you will not be able to click [Test].

    [Test]

Now press any button on the remote you want to match.
The meas. block field above will change from Not Recogn. to Recognized.

    [Save]

    [Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Notes: You can check the current memory positions using Meas. Block 007. If remotes are recognized but not functional see the

    Special Notes

The 8E/8H platform comfort system module has assigned positions, like parking spots 1, 2, 3 and 4, for each remote. This is critical when matching new remotes.
If you are having problems with the Remote Control Matching, please pay special attention to the instructions above: Make sure to TYPE IN the number instead of scrolling up to it, otherwise you will not be able to click [Test].

If you got through this procedure, the antenna is working. Perhaps disconnect the battery, connect both terminals together to dissipate any residual charge and reset all electronics try the sync procedure. Insert key into ignition, rotate to start, press unlock a few times, remove key, test buttons.

    Also double check your adaptation.

Can you change the key position? Does the procedure work as described until you test it?

Have you inspected the antenna? Perhaps its not the key or CCM, but the antenna not able to send any information from one to the other.

    Just thinking outside the box.

I was thinking the same thing...odd that they would fail together...but possible. Have someone push on the antenna amplifier above the rear window while you attempt to program.
