How the F*CK do we remove the damn driver side windshield wiper?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I previously owned two B5's before having a B6, and these f*cking B6's are ridiculous. everything is more complicated. from removing the rear license plate light bracket to windshield wipers, every damn thing is just so stupidly complicated. what was a no brainer to remove on the B5, is complicated with a B6.

anywho, the manual that comes with the car says press the button on the wiper and remove the wiper blade... yea... it's that f*cking easy... as easy as changing wipers on my B5... not....

edit: excuse the language. i've been arguing with the wife, so i'm pretty damn angry right now.

thing is, i'm not trying to remove the whole arm. i'm just pressing the stupid button on the arm and trying to get it to slide

i wish it were that easy. with the amount of force that i'm using to push that button down, i'm surprised it hasn't broke yet. while pushing down, i'm trying to get it to slide upward.

The link I posted was just to give you a better idea about the mechanics of the wiper clip, not saying you need to uninstall the thing.

If you have a new wiper just get some pliers and rip the shit off... the metal nub on the arm itself will probably stay put... probably

i'm on the verge of just ripping it out, but my self control is preventing this. i'm starting to reach the point in where i'm just going to say f*ck it and convert the damn thing to the new aero setup..

I heard using your teeth gets the job done

Try some WD40 and grab some pliers to rip them suckers out.
If all else fails and youv given up..do the conversion.

Wait wait wait hold up, you have the old OEM Bosch ones, thought you had Aero?? In that case all you really do is push the clip(button) in and pull out.

    Requires special tool VAG/VAS 1912

AFAIK, aero wipers come stock on B6 S4's and B6 cold weather package A4's. Maybe it came on more models, such as the USP, idk.

    Time to search car-part, texas-lqk, and search-tempest!

thanks for the heads up, i guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to find a wrecked S4 and take them off of that

edit: not seeing any wrecked S4 on craigslist. i'm guessing that the B7 A4 came with them though.

Only minorities steal cars? No wonder you couldn't manage a single wiper... you're a fucking moron.

funny.. just for the fun of it, i went over to my buddy who is master tech certified, and has been working on cars for 30+ years - and has his own shop. i asked him if he could remove the other wiper.. guess what? he busted it too..

edit: the city also occasionally sends him construction equipment and government cars to work on every now and then, so he isn't you average joe.

My advice? Just go ahead an pony up the $100 for the Aero arm/blade kit. My old style articulated arms finally broke and I went with the Aero's. Wish I had done it sooner. They do a much better job and are a lot easier to change.
