Airbag Light... Reset Tool ??

Anyone have any positive results using $40 Ebay airbag controller/dashboard light Reset tool?
My airbag light is ON.
Dreaded Error Code # 65535 (Internal Control Module Memory Error).....can't be reset using Vag-Com.
Have read many threads about possible fixes including replace module with new/used, or send out module to a company that will repair/reflash....of course looking for the easiest fix first!

I bought the xtool vag401 and it works just fine for small things like this

Is the xtool vag401 the same thing as if I get an ebay cable with vcds lite?

Fwiw, I reset an a4 that unplugged and re-plugged his steering wheel using ebay vagcom.
