Cool Finally lowered, Eibach pro springs review

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So after a lot of research, i decided to try lowering springs with stock suspension, install was done by VW certified mechanic in his own shop.

Drive comfort didn't change a lot, i am a person who drive around 3000 kms a month. (18" rims)
Handling improved a lot. I honestly like how it drives and handle now.
overall satisfied with the product. i have been driving on them for a week now, and i don't have any issues or complains to report

My mechanic told me no alignment is required.

    Mods done so far:
    Eibach pro kit lowering springs
    RS4 grill
    Rs4 foglight covers
    Roof Vinyl
    Tint

    Mods to be done:
    side blades
    quad exhaust
    rear valence
    19" rims (maybe)

Looks good. Could throw on some spacers to bring the wheels out a little. I installed the eibach pro kit springs just a couple weeks ago and like them a lot! Perfect amount of drop for me without having to worry much about how I drive (i.e. speed bumps, dips, etc.)

drop looks great, 19s would definitely fill out the wheel wells better!...

quick side note on the eibach pro lines- i have had them on for roughly 11k miles now and i can say they are starting to feel a bit bouncy. I will be going coils as soon as my wife lets me

the stock shocks start (i have non sline stock shocks) to give out and the compression rates dont match up, but for the money its a great alternative to coils.

Seems most people who have a bouncy ride after 10k or so miles dropped the car on stock non-sport shocks. I'll have to make a report in 10k miles as I did the drop on stock sport shocks.

I thought this too but then I rode in a car with vogtlands and I was like OMG, that is what real matched compression rates feel like lol

Have you taken a ride in an A4 with coils to compare?

My vote is for Bilsteins. I just put on the Bilstein B12 pro kit, which is matched to Eibach springs. Perfect setup imo.

Nice! I've had the Prokit for about a year now. Had to replace my stock sport shocks after about 10k miles as they got really bouncy. The rears were completely shot and the fronts not much better. I put in a set of Sachs sport shocks and so far they have been good to me.

The problem with spacers when i did my initial research that they cause damages to bearings, and i drive a lot (3000 km a month). I wish i can find a solution for this because i need to go wider.

yeah sort of dark gray, I don't like how they look, but i had to keep them on during winter and until all the roads are cleaned from winter gravel (welcome to alberta), i dont want to damage my paint.

19s will be a good choice, i am looking for a set actually, I think they shorten the life of the shocks, since they have less cushion than the 18s <-- (no evidence on this, its just a thought :) )

Yeah defiantly the next step, I will wait until my shocks crap out, maybe a new product comes out by then. do you know if the drivie comfort the same as the stick shocks.

    Looks great.

Like other's stated, just be ready to get new shocks in 10-20k miles. A lot of people claim the ride is fine with them, and it is subjective, but if they were to ride in another A4 with properly matched suspension, stock or aftermarket, they'd be shocked (no pun intended). The statement below is 100% true.

PS...spacers won't affect your bearings, atleast no more than switching to a different offset wheel. I ran spacers for 100k miles and was still on original bearings without any hint of failure.

Yeah, it's comparable to the OEM S-Line suspension, maybe a bit firmer but not as harsh.

The drop looks great, nice job OP. However...

This has me concerned. Any time you change your ride height, even if it's a little bit, you should get an alignment. Is it required? No, but you'll be wishing you did get one when your tires start to wear prematurely. Better to spend $50-100 on an alignment now, rather than hundreds more on tires later.

I'm still on the stock shocks with the Eibach pro-kit springs. Any recommendations on the best bang for your buck replacement shocks?
    Sachs pro?
    Bilstein pro?
