Red face P0139 Error code and then some...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I got a few error codes which i then scanned. The issues are shown below.

Is the P0139 Oxygen sensor related to the carbon buildup issue? I know some of you had the work done under warranty even with a tune. You guys know what the other two issues are about? I'm taking my car in later this week for the 25k work so i'll be bringing it up but would like to have some more knowledge before I take it in. Thanks.

P0139 could be an indication of a bad O2 sensor. Since it says B1 S2 (Bank 1 Sensor 2), it's the secondary sensor after the CAT. Have you messed with them in any way or something? You might want to take a look and see if there's any wire damage or anything, but it could just be a sensor going bad or a CAT clogging up and the O2 sensor not getting the response it should see in the expected time based on what it knows a working CAT should flow. If it is a CAT issue, they may blame your tune on it. Heck, they could blame your tune on a failed O2 sensor too, but since there's two banks, if the second bank is perfectly fine, you can use that as a logical argument to state that "Look, half my motor is working fine and the other half has this failure... if it was something out of normal manufacturing failure of the sensor or whatnot, you'd logically expect both sides to fail since the aftermarket tune is designed with the whole motor in mind, not just half."

It would not be the first Revo car I've heard of with a problem with the cats

I haven't messed with them. Besides the tune and AWE resonated exhaust, those are the only two things related to the engine.

I've been following some of your Revo posts. Someone have mentioned that the tune was updated a few months after the initial release. I had mine reflashed at last year's Waterfest by Revo techs. So it's probably the updated files with less adventurous timing?

It could be, and I'm definitely not saying it's the tune. IIRC, the problem that caused the cat failure on the other car was high IATs combined with a rich A/F mixture.

Yeah sorry, that was badly worded on my part. What I meant to ask is the tune I have is probably the updated file and not the original tune. Not that you were equating the issue to the tune.

I don't think anyone knows the answer to that question. It wasn't until last week where someone with a REVO tune actually did some logging and that was only one car and without further info as to when/where the flash of the ECU took place. We basically don't have a timeline to go by right now... or one hasn't been discovered yet. No one at REVO has even come out, I don't think, and said they made any changes to correct the initial issues. The community kind of just guessed at it based on one new log session with one user.

I have the VAG cable and Ross Tech software. Are there instructions on how to log the data? Thanks in advance!

helix139 should be able to help you out in that department and put you in touch with the right people to assist. The other thread APR VS REVO I think has some of the parameters that are needed, but I can't remember for sure. There is a recent thread that discusses it and has all the info... might even be the REVO Knock Knock thread. Check both of them out.

I had a 02 sensor CEL not too long ago, Audi found a missing exhaust bolt near the sensor, said that might of been the reason. They said the 02 sensor was complaining about running too hot, sounds a little different than yours, though I never saw the exact code.
