Great parts shop/wreckers on the I5

    Hey All,

I am embarking on a fairly awesome surf trip today, leaving Victoria heading to San Diego, then back again.

Since I will be casually heading back up the I5 on my way back, I thought it would be a good idea to see if there are any great parts dealers along the way. In Canada, we pay a bit of a premium, plus wrecker parts are almost impossible to come by.

I'm looking for some basic stuff, like front and rear rotors/brakes, also needing a new/used brake vacuum booster, and a replacement belly pan. If someone knew of some black b6 front fender panels (both sides), I'd probably offer some sexual favours as well.

TLDR: Anyone have some a great parts shop/wrecker off the I5 that I can snag a deal at?

Campbell Nelson in Arlington Wa, is closing and advertised a 50% discount on parts.

Otherwise, Strictly German in South Seattle.

about a month or two ago there was a wrecker yard in (richmond?) advertising on bellingham craigslist... had an S4 and was selling the seats for $1250 (f/r heated) black with the white alcantara insert.

I was going to ask some relatives to go and pick them up for me... but not sure how sweet they'd look in my 'platinum' interior.

    keep looking!

    San Diego:
    San Ysidro/Otay Mesa

Many of them off of Energy Way by the car dealerships
(Such as Japan Auto Tech, which supposedly actually specializes in VAG...)
(Or AAA Foreign Auto Wrecking, which had like 10 B6's last time I went. Not including the C5 A6 and B5 selection. And the odd V12 MBZ AMG w/ Lorinser LM1's priced at like $300)

Much more of them off of Heritage Rd. (by the airport)
What I saw in my last trip
    -10 B7's in one lot
    -3 T-regs in one lot
    -10+ B6's in various lots
-B7 A4 titanium S-line avant, rolled onto windshield
    -C6 S6
    -C5 A6/S6
-Old school cadillacs, so you can retrofit one of their train-like sounding horns?
-Many VW MKIV chassis cars (IE MK1 TT, MK4 Golf/Jetta/GTI)
    -Passats, even a 4motion
    -Audi 2.7t

It takes an entire day to go through these yards.

Calling is useless. They have the worst customer service. Ever. But show up and wave a couple bucks around, and you might get lucky. Or kidnapped and taken across the border, which is a couple miles away.

Haggle away...there's no demand for VAG parts here.

AFAIK, Sacramento and LA have much more yards and better prices. And texaslkq.com.
