    Battery drain

Hi all, just installed some new upgraded headlights to my 2002 a4 Quattro (b6) w/ the led strip but no HID. Although my factory headlights had the stock HID. I installed these new lights and 6 hours later my battery was completely drained. any ideas why? I have the correct connections and the lights are compatible for my year model and make (b6) 10 pin connector. Is this just a one time thing or a problem with after market lights?

It could be a bad or almost ready to die battery as well...

I thought they were coming with xenon also. The place I bought them from failed to mention they did not work with stock xenon hid kit. Trust me I hate halogen lol. I'm thinking that's my problem because I just saw the same lights on a diff website saying they aren't compatible.

Do you know if I were to remove stock hid kit and ballast from Original light that I have and out it in new lights would that work?

I doubt the two are related as the headlights are controlled via a relay which should not have power when the key is out. This could just be a coincidence. FYI those headlights are junk (ask me how I know). I went back to OEM as soon as I could.

Thanks for the info bro..So could it be a bad relay? I've read some other ppls poet saying they liked these headlights . I haven't been able to find any other lights compatible with my car. How do you know? Lol

Well the LED strips like to turn on and off when ever they want, I could NEVER aim these things properly and I was sick of all the faults on the DIS. I have the set that came with HIDs sitting in the trunk of my Bimmer lol.

If they come on when you turn them on then your relay is fine. Charge your battery (or replace it if needed) and check to see if there is any power going to the plugs with the car off.

PS this is what I plan to get next since it retains all the factory options and is much better than doing a Joey Mod.

You removed the OEM xenons and installed ebay fake b8 halogen headlights? Youre doing it wrong..

Oh what the B6 forum is coming to.

OP how old is your battery?

Yea I didn't realize they came with halogen I messed up that part. You have somewhere else to buy headlights compatible for my car? The battery isn't too old.

Those headlights you put up are the same manufacturer as mine. "Helix" but is it even possible to find headlights with the led strip and updated look for my year?

No because you would need Bi-Xenon. You can buy a set on ebay for the H1 bulb that is in those LED headlights but I am pretty sure on the side of those lights says to not use HIDs because they will melt them.

I could use the factory xenon lense though also.

Those are my stock except for the black housing.

So it might've just been a coincidence. Or in the next couple hours it'll drain lol. I'll look into putting stock hid in them

Well I told you I would let you know about the lights I bought from EBay.

The fitment of these lights was really nice and all the parts from my OEM units swapped over fairly easy. It did take a few tries with the adjuster motors but no more than 5 minutes.

The white wire going to the motor is in the wrong spot. That was another easy fix and I just had to swap the pinned wire over to the other side of the connector.

The passenger light went it and lined up perfect. The drivers side took some adjusting, but after lowering the bracket that the headlight sits on, it was good to go.

Overall for under $240 bucks shipped it's a great deal.

P.S. I know there are other write ups on these headlights but I said I would review them and that's what I did.
