2008 Symphony II, Bluetooth streaming through iPod dock in glove box?

I have looked around for a Bluetooth adapter that I can plug into my iPod dock in the glove box so I can stream music from my phone.

I tried this one (which doesn't work) : http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Rece...mpow+bluetooth

I Googled but everything is from at least 3 years ago. Was wondering if something new has come out that you guys might know about that would work. Seems that more people were having issues with the 2008 model than others. I have the Symphony II, and from what I read is not A2DP compatible.

I would think Enfig would have something you could use. I got an iPod adapter from them years ago and works great with the steering wheel controls (song names only show up on center of cluster rather than the Symphony II+). I believe they have Bluetooth as well, and it's all plug-and-play.

VisseO WMA1000 seems to be the only thing that might work.

Look into Dension units. They work great. They replace the glove box adapter and plug inline with the stereo harness.

Dension units are a very good option but it cost a lot more than a simple BT adapter. But it also does a lot more... I love mine, and yes it's plug'n play. It's a nice upgrade if you don't plan on upgrading the head unit.

The problem you are facing is that the factory iPod dock does not provide power (i.e. it does not charge the iPod). Any streaming adapter will need power to operate. The only option, aside from replacing the head unit, is something like the Denison products or wiring up an aux input. I am in the same boat as you but haven't yet bought an integration kit because I am considering the aftermarket unit fly300kts bought. - http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...t-Nav-installs

That's not true. My iPod Dock on my 08 charges my iPod

Dension--that's what I meant, not Enfig. I have a Dension which does iPod through a direct connect, but not Bluetooth, but I know there is a Dension unit that does it.

Weird. My dock doesn't charge my iPod touch (8gb) or my wife's iPhone 4. Something is amiss with my baby...

Ah man that blows. I haven't taken my ipod out in like a year! It might be dependent on the generation though. Maybe check that first

Yep, Dension. I had a 4th gen Touch that charged as well.
BT phone calls, steering wheel controls worked.
Selling it in the classifieds now since I've switched head units.

I ordered the Visseo, if that doesn't work I will look at the Denison.

Using a 2nd gen ipod, not sure why yours is not charging.

Just received the VisseO WMA1000 and it works very well. It allows my Samsung phone paired both as a phone and to stream music. So far quality of music is good and no skipping from signal lose. A little expansive but I don't want to upgrade my headunit.
