Is there really Euro license plate holder under the US version ?

If so, would you mind sharing tips as to what's the easiest way to remove it? I spent over two hours searching various Audi forums and due to various models and various years, I still did not find the answer I'm looking for.
Some folks mention clips, some mention screws, some mention screws AND clios....or even silicone glue etc. But I dont think I still read a thread that describes B8 specifically.

My wife and Iare originally from EU and I bought for her a very nice 2011 A4Q with low miles on Fri from non-Audi dealer in a city where I'm attending a trade show right now until Monday.

The dealer is storing the car for me until Monday and I will be v picking it up after I am done working. Anticipating this purchase, I took my wife's Euro license plate with me and the goal is that as arrive home very late Monday night - I would like to have her home-town license plate mounted on her car when I show it to her for the first time. This would be icing on top of the cake ;)

The dealer promised to help me with the install on Monday but I want to make it as easy as possible for them so I am trying to gather some info.

I think I saw one screw in the dead center of the US version of the license plate holder and I presume there are several clips that are holding it in place as well.

Is there also glue used (as I read elsewhere)?
Is this an easy removal that can be just done from the front of the grill or does one have to approach from *behind* of the grill.....or worse yet - take the grill off?

Any tips on how to remove the US front license plate holder or what tools should be used and how - would be greatly appreciated !!

    Many thanks in advance !!

This is a picture of an S4 grille, but illustrates what it looks like. In the US, they put either a solid filler plate (pictured under the grille) or a filler plate with a US plate mount over the euro plate mount. The grille with no filler plate has a recessed area for the euro plate.

If I read correctly what you're trying to do is remove the US to get to the euro correct? If thats the case there are only 3 screws. One in middle and 2 on the bottom left and right side. There are no clips. Remove those 3 screws and pull it straight out.

Wow. ... Thank you guys.... This is big help !

It will be super easy removing only 3 screws and that Euro frame that is underneath will be perfect to accomodate the small plastic holder into which the license plate snaps in.

BTW you will need a Torx screw driver to remove the screws. Can't remember the exact size but I think its size 20 or 25.

Thanks again for that tip about three screws.....I never noticed that even looking at the US holder carefully in person or the 13mp full image on my PC

After your suggestion I enhanced the shadows in my phone image ... and sure enough.... There are the 3 screws. Thank you very much again !!

What is this witchcraft? Why did I not know about this before I Plasti dipped my grille? Now I have to get a Euro plate redo it to get rid of the stupid CT-mandated front plate bracket

lol if serious, that is why there is a blank filler plate to cover the europlate holder. makes sense as it is cheaper to just keep 1 grill for us and euro/ROTW
