Bringing this up from the depths.

I pieced together a full front RS5 upgrade with the dust shields and everything. I was overseas while I did this, so I didn't have access to my wheels or the able to use the fitment template that ECS has. I'm home now and used the template on 2 sets of wheels.

First ones were 19x9.5 ET37 Forgestars that I had on my RS and are in my basement so easy to get to. Second were the Rotiforms that came on the car when I bought it, I don't know the specifics of the wheel, but shown here:

The Rotiforms seemed WAY off for the template to fit. Must have been .5" or more poking through the spokes. The Forgestars were closer, but there's no way to run those on the S4 with a spacer and not have them poke way out.

I guess my question is, do the RS5 calipers really poke out that much farther from the hub than the stock brakes? The template seems almost too far off to be real. I did make sure the template was printed at 100% scale and I measured the calibration box at a perfect 2".

Guess the new saying should be measure twice, order once...and not from 7,500 miles away.

They are really big calipers and wheel fitment is tough for sure.

What calipers and rotors are you using? The b8 rs5 or b9 rs5?

As someone who's dealt with this issue before, its not the ET of the wheel but the actual design of the wheel which will determine if it clears the calipers. I have an AP 6 piston kit that fit under my factory wheels ET43 and my Forgestar ET39 but did not clear my TSW Bathurst ET39 without needing 10mm spacers and even with the spacers there was maybe 3-4mm of clearnce between the spoke of the TSW wheel and the caliper. So with an effective ET of 29 it's still less friendly than the factory wheel or the Forgestar wheels. I can't really tell from the photo but it appears that you're at stock height, which while it has no bearing on the actual fitment of the wheel will improve the aesthetic of the overall appearance greatly.

As you can see here this is with a 12mm spacer - https://www.customwheeloffset.com/wh...sion-coilovers

Just remembered I'd posted this earlier last year - https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...1#post14778614

I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

Maybe we can compile a list of wheels that do/do not work, or work with a spacer and what size.

Forgestar F14's 19x9.5 in ET37 do not work by themselves, but seems ok with an approx 15mm spacer. But with the offset and spacer it'll push the wheel too far past the fender.

Rotiform KPS 19x8.5 in ET45 don't work. Even with the approx 15mm spacer, the template will still hit the spokes and actually seems to hit the barrel of the wheel as well.

    What other styles/wheels work?

    Looks like

VMR 710's in 19x8.5 (offset unknown) work without spacers

S4 19" Rotor wheels with 5-10mm spacers work

Looking like I'm either going to have a set of RS5 brakes for sale soon, or 2 sets of wheels...

It would be much easier to contact the wheel vendor to see if the backspacing will fit over RS5 brakes. Trying to compile a complete list is going to be problematic at best, considering different variants of the same wheels.

What I have done plenty in the past is looked for wheels which fit an RS5, then see what et I can make work on my car(s).

BBS and Vossen have been very helpful to me with providing info via request (I have two cars with B8 RS5 brakes).

Just my thoughts...do as you will.

In hindsight that makes more sense. I’m going to use that line of thought.

That said, just one more thing. Anyone know if the Peelers work, specially the S4 ones. Believe they’re 19x8.5 et 43

Nice! With the S4 peelers having slightly more positive offset, those should work too? I might have a lead on a set.

To my understanding S4 peelers do not fit over RS5 brakes without spacers (don't know spacer size)

I have not bothered testing that, however.

Thanks again everyone. I’ll post again here once I get a set of wheels and install the brakes.

I have S5 peelers for winter tires setup! Plenty cleareances! S5 rotors for summer times plenty space as well! I currently have the 265mm front rotors, i ordered the ECS 280mm rotors as a replacement! Still should fit in the 19 wheels hopefully!

Man... That's going to be a TIGHT fit. I already can't get my hand between the outer rim and the caliper to wash anything.

Let us know how this goes...

Picked up some S5 Peelers. Just waiting for the carrier bolts and some more brake fluid from FCP to come in…and the time.

Got them on! I might have to re-bleed them. The top of the pedal is softer than I expected. But the gravity feed flowed without any bubbles so I’m not sure. I’ll eventually refinish the calipers too, but the imperfections are not as notable with the wheels on. Wheels will get refinished in the spring.

    ECS stainless lines
    ECS 365mm rotors
EBC Redstuff pads (FCP euro lifetime replacement)

No issues at all. The 380mm discs would come close but seem like they would still fit. (Just by eyeballing it, not actually measuring)

More space than I thought there would be based on the initial look with the template. I’ll grab a picture for you later
