    Auxiliary waterpump replacement

So today while I wait for my Arnott suspension to arrive I decided to tackle my coolant leak. It was pretty bad I would go through about a whole 3.0L of g12 50/50 In a week. It would drip down by the front diff and front of the tranny, especially after I parked and the car would cool down. Makes sense it would be the aux waterpump. I pulled up the intake manifold hoping to find crusties everywhere but I only found what is shown in the photo. I already did all the work so I might as well replace the pump.
is there something else that could be leaking?
Are these enough crusties for this significant of a leak?
And it really just looks like the hose clamp is leaking....??

You may have a leak at the coolant cross over at the back of the engine or the temp sensor. Since you have all of that stuff out of the way you can probably take a peak back there.

This is what I found after I did my aux water pump when it dumped a bunch of coolant after a quick test drive. This is looking down on the PS rear of the engine.

The coolant hoses for the turbos have also been known to spring a leak, and they run in the same area ... see post #117 here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-allroad/page3

You hit it on the head GOto60! was wet right under the passenger cross bar. I don't know how I didn't notice it sooner. Usually theres a trail of crusties... I guess it was dumping so much it never got a chance to dry up.

Here's another question. They sent me the wrong aux pump, should I just replace it now with a new one while the top end is torn down or just reinstall the oem pump?

How is the pump wrong? If the wrong one will mount and the electrical is correct I would probably install the new one but only if it's pretty close. As you know, it's kind of a pain to get in there so I wouldn't want to do the job again.

The one on the left is the new pump.
    New part #0 392 020 073
    Old part #0 392 020 039

It wasn't too bad to rip into it, took about 45 but only because I couldn't find my magnet and used pliers instead. I'll change it now..I'll do just about anything to never have to drop 15.99 a well on coolant.
While I'm at I'm changing the fluid, easiest way to do that?

Fill it with distilled water and take it to a shop

A true flush is a pain without the proper machine and takes AGES for the warmup/cool down process and bleeding all of the air.

I need to do this too. Did you use the relocation kit to move the pump to the front of the motor?

Nope, it wasn't that bad. I don't want the hassle of cramming more shit up there. I thought about it but I like being able to pin point a leak.

I would take it to shop If my front end wasn't slammed on the ground

    Thanks that's perfect!

My passenger side bag -_-...I've concluded my car fucking hates me and wants me dead lol. I was leaning to grab something in one of the cubby holes on the door and the bag blew and I hit my head pretty had.
