Silly question: License plate frames

I just bought a 2011 S4 Premium Plus last Friday (drove from Boulder, CO to Lincoln, NE and back to get the car I wanted).

It has the dealer license plate frames which are kind of nauseating. I was looking on Amazon for a decent set of frames but it seems like the cheaper frames have stickers on them while the quality frames are over $100.

I just can't bring myself to spend over $100 for a license plate frame. With my luck, it would get stolen!

This frame seems like the best deal on Amazon for a decent frame.

Any input would be appreciated!

Just buy an Audizine frame from the Audizine store and call it a day

I love my AZ frame even though it was only 5 bucks

I have two of the weathertech water tight frames with the clear cover and everything if you are interested. I got a black one (still in box) for the grill and a chrome or silver looking one for the rear that's essentially brand new. They look awesome, but Virginia plates have a slight lip around the edge making them not fit without me cutting or grinding the plate down so I never used them. I have friends in other states where they fit with no issues. If you are interested PM and I will give em to you cheap.

these are great for me and fit into the holders cleanly.

I have this one too and it looks great. Only thing is the screw holes are a bit big so you need screws w big heads. I used the ecs slim line torx screws w the flat heads

I'm running the Audi Sport frame. Cost me less than $50. But when I bought my car, the dealer gave me a $75 credit to use in the botique. Also got a hat.

There are a few things in life that are worth paying a little bit extra for - steak, a suit, hookers - but damn, a plastic frame should not be one of them.

I got my car with an annoying dealership plate, I simply stated that I won't keep their junky plastic on unless they pay me. So he let me pick from the pile and I went with the silver Audi Sport one.

In hindsight I shoulda grabbed the CF looking one, as the silver is always dirty looking. I may now just matte black spray it.

Just flip dealer's plate holder so the name faces trunk and call it a day :)

thought there were only 2 holes at the top of the license plate....hmmmm.

Is it just me...? Why do dealerships [service departments] replace your license plates frames with their crappy frames?!! I get it...it is all for THEIR FREE marketing/Advertising, etc...but what about the simple courtesy of asking if the customer wants to keep his frames? This is the 2nd time (different dealership) have trashed/damaged my frames; I think I will be leaving very clear instructions after dropping off my vehicle for service going forward.

I've had a Cal alumni frame on my cars since graduating (Go Bears), but when I swapped it onto my new car last weekend it's a tight fit with the backup cam now. Might just grab an audizine frame and call it a day.

Been running these frames on all my black cars, have had them painted body color in some cases also.

Why does anyone need a frame? I just have my license plate screwed into the holes in the bracket attached to the car. No way I was going to advertise for my dealership for free, but I didn't see the need for any kind of frame.
