TPMS fault could just me a sensor going bad. I had that issue when I threw a new set of wheels on and did not have TPMS sensors in them. Go into your MMI and check the tire pressure and set it and maybe that will resolve the issue. I am not familiar with the other error though.

2011 Audis don't have sensors in the wheels. They use ABS to calculate tire pressure based on difference in rotation and vibration from the original calibration.

HP Hungry - one of the first things I tried was setting the tire pressure in the MMI. The faults both came back.

Stubek - I didn't know that about this car, but based on what you describe, I'm now wondering if these two faults are related?

My mistake. Get it checked out at the dealer or indy shop and see what codes come up. Good luck.

I just looked in the Owners manual and confirmed that the two faults are in fact related. On pg. 298:

"The tire pressure monitoring system stops working when there is an ESP/ABS malfunction"

Another thing I observed is that the Audi Side Assist (Lane Change Indicator in mirror) isn't working and cannot be activated. Not sure how that can be related to ESP...anyway, I have an appointment with the dealer next week to figure this all out.

Please post your findings once you visit the dealer. I experience something similar, although mine show up only during the vcds scan. No faults registered.

For future reference, just got my car back from the dealer and they found a defective G-419 YAW SENSOR. It is apparently located under the driver side front seat, which had to be removed for the sensor to be replaced. All three issues (Audi Side Assist, TPMS Fault, and Stabilization Fault) we're related to this sensor and are fully functional after replacement, which was fortunately done under warranty.

What offset are your wheels/tires? Sometimes if your have Sport Diff, the wrong offsets disagree with the car and throws off the ABS/Traction Control/TPMS.

I dont think I have a sport diff on my 2011 A5 convertible. I am wondering whether I should worry about something that does not throw a code. In my case I got tpms fault and stabilization program fault only during the Auto scan. Although, they never show up on the cluster permanently and no code registered. Thanks.

Alex, running stock 19's right now. Recently picked up some 20" wheels with summer tires which I will be installing as soon as the weather heats up and the potholes are patched up.

I have a similar issue on my 2011 Q5. Just got it fixed from a collision. Now my dash is throwing "stabilization programme: TPMS and ABS fault". My ABS light, TPMS, and vehicle with winding road icon, all are on.

Edit: my apology if I'm in the wrong thread.

Do you know anyone in your area with VCDS, it's probably just a bad wheel speed sensor.
