There should be a logo backing plate supplied with your grille to attach it to.

You can get this grille on ebay, in gloss, with the removable tag bracket for $166. The seller is dubstopimports.

Also as some have mentioned, paint or dip the crash bar if you aren't going to use the tag bracket. I recommend taking it off since it's simply held on by 4 bolts. I painted mine satin black.

No speak of what to do with the air temperature sensor. New grill does not had holes for the temp sensor.

    looking for some help..........

after doing the install on my rs4 grille several months ago, i had the dreaded gap between the hood and grille.
this week i picked up a CF lip and will be removing the bumper to get it installed and want to address the gap. Where in this DIY do i need to focus on for making sure i don't have the gap going forward?

My suggestion would be to line it up how you want it before you tighten all the bolts. There's a bit of wiggle room but I'm not sure how much adjustability there is.

For my temperature sensor I drilled a small hole on the intake chute thing and stuck it there.

Excellent write up! This is the second time I've used it; it was clutch about a year ago when I swapped out my grille, and again this time as I replace the whole front bumper cover assembly.

I believe the B7 had some adjustable supports for the bumper which set the height of it. I think these are under the 2 bolts in the front of the engine bay, under the front cowl. I suspect the B8 is similar. We are really missing a good DIY for any adjustment that might be needed.

Check out the ECS intercooler page for a nice install guide which includes bumper removal. Also Eurocode intercooler has one.
