fair enough, but you gotta understand most people's experiences with police officers is not that they are public servants, more public nuisances. I'd expect a sobriety test and 30 minutes of harassment just for inviting them over.
had a friend last weekend who reported a set of car tracks that went off a cliff. cops came, found no car at the bottom, but proceeded to harass him for an hour accusing him of street racing, dui, and wasting their time. General malfeasance is par for the course for police these days. -- and this is only the most recent affront. i have about 10 more stories from just the last year including 2 people getting 'evading police' charges after they pulled over in response to the lights -- it just took the cop so long to catch up to them (locals on windy roads) that the officers drew guns and arrested them -- for a simple speeding violation -- one even had his dog wagging his tail in the passenger seat while they went all swat team on him.
