    Prestige vs. Premium Plus

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So i got Prestige, B&O, SD, Fine nappa (silver leather insets), 19" wheels, S-Tronic...

When I put the same options (B&O, Nav+, Silver Fine Nappa inserts, SD, Side Assist, 19") with Premium Plus i get $57, 550 vs $59.050 Prestige.

Where is the difference? (adaptive lights?) For some reason i thought Prestige would be a 'package deal' discount. :(

    where did ~ $1500 go?

Adaptive headlights, that's it. Kind of a rip if you ask me.

I did include side assist in Premium Plus quote - ($500). LED daytime are also included in Premium Plus.

Prestige is not worth it. That's just a title by the dealer to get you to spend more.

Honestly adaptive headlights should've been standard. In a BMW or MB when you get Xenons they are automatically adaptive. Hell even a VW GTI and VW CC has adaptive headlights.

Don't forget the SmartKey/PushButtonStart that's standard in the Prestige. Prestige also gets memory seat for the driver.

I know right? Things that we are getting standard have been in Mazdas, Toyotas, Hondas and Hyundais for a while now. Don't let the luxury name fool you.

Correct- Prestige actually did include many differences that, added separately, would price out more than the package. My understanding is that 2013+ Premium came with many of the prior Prestige features.

In addition to the above, from my window sticker,

    Bang and Olufsen Sound System
Audi MMI Navigation Plus Package With Audi Connect

I'm uncertain what the second item totally consists of but, I think, it makes your car into a Wi Fi hot spot, gives you the best traffic information I have EVER seen, gives you Google Earth on your display and weather information in message form.

For the 2014, the only additional item the Prestige package had over a similarly optioned P+ is audi adapative light. $1,500 seemed like a lot for the adaptive lights, so I just went with the P+. Also if leasing, you take an additional 1% hit on the residual for the prestige.

There's also Adaptive Damping Suspension. My '14 Premium Plus didn't come with it. Because of this, I don't have the suspension control in Individual mode of Drive Select.

Yes, but I thought the question was what the Prestige comes with out of the box. And if you add all of these missing options to the Premium Plus, does the new price of the car equal the Prestige?

As with all cars, year model and package changes, manufacturers are continually changing options packages in an effort to keep costs under control. The fact consumers get confused appears to not be very important. Of course consumers are always looking at one thing......price! Just my two cents. I've learned, the hard way, to ask the salesman, well, what does this thing NOT have?

When I bought my 2014 Ibis P+ I got mine fully loaded manual, MMI, side assist, Black Alcantara B&O, Black Optic, ADS. Standard in the car also is the advanced key, backup camera, memory driver seat. I was contemplating getting the prestige and the only differences my order was adaptive headlights, adaptive cruise control and rear side doors and rear window sunshades.

I priced out a PP vs Prestige when I bought mine and it would have been more for all the options. Plus some options were not even avail on the PP like leather side arm rest and adaptive headlights - if paying that much for a car I wanted that option... out in the country at night it's a nice feature - non adaptive headlights seem like old technology to me, especially on a car like this....

Leather Side Arm Rest (don'[t think you can get this on a PP, or at least could not at the time)
    Adaptive Key
Adative Headlight (Don't think you can get on a PP?)
    Side Assist
    Nappa
    Nav

I may be missing a couple - but after adding all them in on the 12' it was more for the PP.

They changed it up in 2014 so Prestige no longer makes sense unless you really want adaptive headlights that come with it, or want adaptive cruise option, which I think requires Prestige. In 2013 and earlier there were other differences, including side assist. If you lease, pretty sure residual % is better on P+ than Prestige.

I have a 2013 Premium Plus a sit came with everything but Side Assist, Adaptive Lights, Adaptive Cruise Control and Suspension Dampening. That would have added another $3K-$4K on the price. I'm happy with what I have. Got MMI+ and Back Up Camera. I had to add the Advanced Key but it was only $750.

Me too and some options weren't available in P+ when I got mine. Side assist, in particular, was important to me. For 2014, they made more options available on P+ and it works out cheaper to get fully loaded P+ now. But you have to go with no adaptive headlights or adaptive cruise.

Concur, side assist has saved my butt more than once. I have a Prestige as well. Perhaps there are those on this site that feel slighted, as I have in my past.

Adaptive Cruise is the only thing I don't have and I'm actually thankful I don't have it. I initially wanted it and then had to do without, but after experiencing it on an A6 loaner, I hate the damn thing. It seems it's always on when cruise is on and my driving habits don't play well with it. (i.e. it brakes much sooner than I do when I come up on cars that eventually get out of the way.) I'd be clawing my eyes out succumbing to the logic that Audi put in the Adaptive Cruise.

Agreed and I do not have it either. What really turned me off was someone telling me you have adaptive cruise or regular cruise, so if you get a car with adaptive cruise you can't just use it as regular cruise without the adaptive part. I think adaptive cruise also requires / includes adaptive steering and I wasn't interested in beta testing either.

Edit: I'd prefer frickin laser beams that vaporize cars to get them out of the left lane much better than a system that slams on my brakes.
