    The unit looks great and works well. With my phone as a hotspot I run google maps + pandora all the time...it is android, download what ever apps your heart desires.

    Items that I still need to fix/play with when i get time.
    The CAN bus isn't communication - I wanted to display torque speed ect on the screen.
    The steering wheel volume scroll is slow. Not seemless like the factory origional - realy hope I can fix this problem.
    Reverse cam has a little noise creating faint lines accross the screen - This I have seen before and will run a shielded cable to solve the issue.
    The radio doesnt have great reception. There is an adapter for the factory cable, and a blue antena enable signal wire??? I hope the antena simply isnt turing on correctly.

    Having said all that, I dont think the adapter cable povided with my radio is 100% correct. Some of the connection from the Audi harness arent used by the radio - this might be the only issue

    I think the main issue, for most people is the rear speakers not working with Bose equipped cars. I was checking some suppliers on Aliexpress and asking about this issue. Some units for sure aren't made for Bose cars, but some are, you just have to ask. I'm actually gonna order a unit this weekend albeit for my wife's Mazda CX-7, but if everything works out, I would probably get one for my B6 as well. I also emailed Squaretrade about an extended warranty for one of these units and currently awaiting an answer. They currently offer extended warranty on DHgate checkout, but units on DHGate are little more expensive than Aliexpress. If they will do the warranty, I would be even more confident getting one for my B6. It sounds like these issues you have so far aren''t that big a deal. People made it sound like the units would just randomly brick and shutdown. If those are the extent of the glitches I can deal with that to have that much freedom with options and apps. Where did you purchase your unit and how if you don't mind telling?

    The power antenna wire coming off the head unit. I think it's blue, too, but I don't remember.

    that was easy, lol

    The S100 harness has a blue wire labeled Antenna Power ;)

    Got it all working, however, with the AM antenna connected I get some interference (sound quality suffers). When I disconnect the AM antenna, it is all good.

    Has anyone figures out how to rename the V-CDC's ? (virtual CDs)

    I bought the unit from TradeSolutions HK LTD - http://www.tradesolution.hk/e/ptxweb...sp?brand_id=55

    I got the TA704A - the list price is a tease, you will need to add another $20 for the reverse cam and $60 for shipping.
    I got the unit really quickly...once they shipped it. Took them along time to ship.
    I believe there are better units on ebay now.

    Manhertm you are 100% correct about the speaker...they were also in the incorrect order. I had to ignore the harness labels and wire it differently.
    Which brings me back to my fist point, this adapter harness is incorrect.
    Where can i try get another version, any ideas?
    it is a project, not a quick fix.

    I'm happy with it.

    It has a A9 1.4GHz x2 (Dual-Core)
    The interface is really smooth, just working on the issues mentioned above.

    I really like the idea of this unit, I would prefer an Android system. But it is still unclear to me if this will work with the Bose system, does it need an additional mic for Bluetooth calls and if it has built in WIFI. Can you shed light on this, thanks. That is for the TA704A.

    Based on what Manhertm said in post #1481, I believe this will work with the bose.

    The Android radio has power connections to all 4 speakers (Green White, Grey and Purple wires from Plug 1) and it also has Aux Outputs for the rear left and right (red, white and black/gnd pins - Plug 2H).
    As for the bluetooth mic, it has a built in mic - but its terrible, perhaps Plug 2H has a aux in...i will check and let you know.
    I dont know how else the bose system differs - but I do see a "bose" pin on the audi radio???
    Yes the unit has built-in wifi - I connect to my phone all the time.

    Can some1 give advise / insight to what all the Audi pin acronyms are?

    TEL AF+ - AUX TELEPHONE INPUT + (not in my Audi wire harness)
    TEL AF- - AUX TELEPHONE INPUT - (not in my Audi wire harness)
    LI NE RR - REAR RIGHT AUX SIGNAL
    LI NE RL - REAR LEFT AUX SIGNAL
    AU PL - ? (not in my Audi wire harness)
    LI NE FR - FRONT RIGHT AUX SIGNAL
    LI NE FL - FRONT LEFT AUX SIGNAL
    LI NE - AUX SIGNAL GROUND
    K-LTG - K LINE DIAGNOSTICS - not required if using CAN presumably.

    CLOCK - ? (not in my Audi wire harness)
    DATA OUT - ? (not in my Audi wire harness)
    DATA IN - ? (not in my Audi wire harness)
    BOSE - ? (not in my Audi wire harness)
    CDC - CD SHUTTLE??? (not in my Audi wire harness)
    +UB CDC - CD SHUTTLE???
    SDI CD-R - CD SHUTTLE???

    AUX-R - AUXILIARY INPUT - RIGHT (not in my Audi wire harness)
    AUX-L - AUXILIARY INPUT - LEFT (not in my Audi wire harness)

    DI SENS - IGNITION SWITCH
    +UB - +12V BATTERY - CONSTANT
    DWA -
    DSP EIN -
    GND - .-12V BATTERY - CONSTANT
    TEL MUTE - TELEPHONE MUTE - FROM PHONE CRADLE eg Kuda Mount (not in my Audi wire harness)

    That will be valuable information, thanks. A good mic is a must for me, so an input for a remote mic would be needed. I am unclear on how the Bose works but I think the problem comes in with the sub-woofer. Perhaps that is what the "Bose" connection is for. Somewhere, perhaps "Data out" is for the dash display which shows some limited HU status. I have done some research but can't yet find a definitive guide. It is terrific that several companies are making HU's for our cars that fit nice and look OEM. Also would be great if these companies had Android on a PC card that could be swapped out for newer versions as it becomes difficult to upgrade the software. Apple has a bad reputation for obsoleting anything over a few years old. Google and Microsoft have pretty open systems so is at least a possibility.

    PS: those updated links are in Chinese.

    Thanks

    I've had a complete computer installed in the trunk of my 99 Grand Marquis, and a 7" touchscreen installed in the dash, all in the Florida heat, and I never had any problems. Naiku hasn't had any issues from what I remember, either.

    It is a shitload of work to get a custom tablet/pc setup running. It's not for everyone, that's for sure. For me, it was a project to do something new, something to conquer. It was a never-ending loop of finding problems and fixing them, so I never recommend this type of thing to anyone that wants a "set it and forget" type of setup, lol.

    I play on running XBMC off of RaspberryPi and connecting it through my S100. I believe there is a video in cable on the S100 that can hook right up to the RPi unit. Plug in a SSD, load movies and music, and you're good to go.

    I think you'll be disappointed when using XBMC on the Pi. The Pi isn't quick or powerful, and the lags when running XBMC are noticeable. I ran XBMC for a while before I decided on using Centrafuse, and while it's good for a 10ft interface (ie: running on a TV as a media center), it's not quite as good when using it in a car.

    The S100 won't have a touchscreen interface when you try using it with the Pi. If you want touchscreen, you'll have to remove the S100 and use a dedicated touchscreen.

    It will have a touch screen. There is a guy working on it and he's quite far. He has also made phone and nav plugins for xbmc. I've seen XBMC on pi and it works fine.

    is anyone running the units that are pre-loaded with android 4.4.2? i've been looking at these versus the WinCE units. i think i'm going to pull the trigger on one in a couple weeks when the chinese get back from holiday.

    bluetooth phone connectivity plus pandora, spotify and waze apps installed on the head unit and connected to the 'net via wifi to my phone hotspot are exactly what i want. steering wheel controls, rear view camera, front DVR and OBD2 are a bonus of this setup. DIS isn't a requirement for me.

    edit to add - the unit looks like the ebay units linked previously. the basic specs are:
    * A9 dual core 1.6GHz
    * android 4.4.2 (4.4.4?)
    * 1GB RAM
    * 8GB Flash
    * 1024*600 touch screen

    So after reading all 38 pages of this thread, I'm still confused. I have a 2008 B7 Cabrio (2.0T) with the Symphony II+ radio (Bose, non-nav). Will the S100 work with my car as a nearly plug and play unit? I'm pretty mechanical, but have never messed with radios. I HATE the look of most aftermarket systems, but since the car is missing so many things we wanted (bluetooth, iPod connection, nav to name a couple) we're considering an upgrade. The S100 unit looks the best of any that I have seen in my research (Dynavin N6 looks ok, but I'm feeling a little cheap). Also, how did those of you with the back-up camera connect it? I've seen some folks mention wireless transmitters, but I feel better about a wired connection. How did you guys route the wire? Thanks for the assist!

    I can't speak for the Bose issue(s), but I am still quite happy with my S100.

    Don't even bother with the wireless backup camera. Waste of time and money. I routed my cables from the trunk lid, inside the wire loom at the left of the trunk, underneath the left side of the carpeted trunk panels, then transitioned to the right underneath the rear seats, then up along the trim on the floor to the glovebox, then over. Ended up being easier than I expected, just time consuming.

    I ran my wire behind the glovebox, under the door floor trim, up the side of the back seats, through the passenger side of the trunk, across the trunk, up the cable holder for the trunk lid, and finally across the trunk (under the carpet piece) into the camera.

    I ordered it last week, yesterday i got a message they no longer produce this unit :(
    I really liked it because of the OEM looks
