MTM Wider C5 A6/Allroad Flares - anyone have some?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking for a set of the MTM Wide Flares that are made for the C5 A6/AllRoad... they offer 20mm MORE flare.

Any one have some or can get them for a cheaper price than MTM? MSRP listing price of ~US $1,150 (EUR $837) PLUS shipping. OR can let me borrow a set so I can make my own from them?

Here they are on Sarge's car...

    someone should invest in this:
    http://www.gizmag.com/markforged-mar...printer/30642/
and make them out of CF. I would buy a set for 400, maybe 500..

I have a full set of flares you could cut and plastic weld wider. A decent body shop "could" be able to pull it off. But no idea how much they would charge if they would do it.

Too bad that printer won't allow the size of the flares... max of 12" x 6" x 6"

if someone has a set available, why not pick them up, make a negative fiberglass mould and then you can later make CF or fiberglass. ive used fiber glass numerous times in the past, made some decent looking woofer boxes and just basic repair jobs. once you have one set of moulds made all youll need to do is buy CF kits of fiber glass which could be painted. theres plenty of DIY guides on how to mix the resin and hardener. I would be interested in taking this project on. if i could get a spare set of flares, widen them a bit, make negative mould and sell sell sell!!

companies like o carbon i don't know why but say it is too much work to make moulds for items like fenders and stuff like that. but theres a number of shops down in the USA who build complete bodies for 1/4mile cars and racing applications. maybe they would be interested in taking on this project. ill get some names of businesses my neighbour will likely be able to give me some info, his cars mostly fiberglass.

That's the plan! That's why I said or borrow a set lol. I'm in the business of making composite parts.

Just saw this. Wonder if we could get 4 or 5 of use together to go in on buying a set then send them to someone to make negatives and stamp out some and spray them for some FBP set ups?

probably not since I've never seen these flares except for two pictures on all of internet and old cached MTM page. They probably sold 5 sets and all of them in germany at that. All 5 are probably sitting on cars parked on some junkyards.

Isn't there a car with these in the US, owned by a member of this forum, FS right now?

I'm very very very slowly working on wider carbon fiber versions. They're made to fit my staggered fit though so reproduction will probably be minimal due to not that many people being staggered. Maybe if there's enough interest I could make a non staggered set.

The rear are a bit over 30mm wider each and the front about 5mm each. I'm working on the fabric door pulls first and then the rear spoiler so don't hold your breath

Did anyone successfully reproduce or otherwise source these larger flares?

I remember reading this thread years back. Cool to see it light up again.
