different widths of alloy wheels in Quattro

    Hi
Wants to buy a new replica of the CCW to A4 Quattro. Rims are the parameters:
    Front: 18/8,5" ET45
    Rear: 18/9,5" ET40
    Tires will 4x215/40

Is such a setup will not damage the drive Quattro? Someone uses different width wheels drive Quattro?

The width shouldn't affect it, its the rolling diameter of the wheels that is a problem. You don't want the same size tire on both front and rear if the widths aren't the same. There is a calculator out there somewhere that tells you what the rolling diameter will be for a certain size tire on a certain width wheel. I think you can have a few percent difference between the wheels, so try to get it as close as possible.

Here is some info on tire/wheel sizing and awd: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=18.

But, ultimately, you are only going to hurt your performance. Stick with one size wheel for all four corners.

I checked the parameters on the calculator and goes something like this

    Diameter---------------629.2mm 629.2mm
    Circumference---------1976.7mm 1976.7mm
    Poke ---------------------63mm 80.7mm
    Inset--------------------153mm 160.7mm
    Speedo error------------0% 0%
    Reading at 30mph-----30mph 30mph
    Reading at 60mph-----60mph 60mph
    Ride height gain-------0mm 0mm
    Arch gap loss-----------0mm 0mm

If the rolling diameter is the same then you should be alright. I know with bigger differences in width different tire sizes are needed, but I guess 1" difference isn't enough to require that.

I guess go for it, since the rolling diameter doesn't change and the contact patch doesn't change (or at least the change is negligible) .
