Help identifying factory package for B8 A4

Been searching all over for a B7 S4 avant with "low" mileage but everything I found has over 75k, which is understandable considering AoA stopped importing them over in 08. So I'm considering a B8 A4 avant instead.

Been browsing the classifieds for the past few weeks and I'm still not sure how many packages were available for the B8 avant so any insight would be much appreciated. I've searched the forum but wasn't able to find all the answers to my questions.

To my understanding all 2012 Premium+ came with the S-line exterior package. Is there such thing as a "true" s-line package? If yes, what are some of the different between the s-line package and exterior package besides the obv exterior s-line parts? Also did they ever make the Sport package + s-line or did all Sport package equipped avant come with the s-line styling?

What do you want to know exactly? like tech package, audio etc? Or you just want the exterior looks?

The Premium trim comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof (panoramic on Avant), automatic headlights, automatic wipers, cruise control, foglamps, automatic climate control, eight-way power front seats, a tilt-and-telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather upholstery, a dash-mounted Audi Multi Media Interface (MMI) and a 10-speaker sound system with a CD player, auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio. The Avant also adds split-folding rear seats. An optional Convenience package adds Bluetooth and an iPod interface, while the Style package includes bi-xenon headlights, LED running lights, self-leveling headlights and bright metal exterior trim.

Options unique to the Prestige include the S line package (19-inch wheels, summer tires, faux-suede seat inserts and special exterior and interior trim), the Drive Select package (which provides adjustable settings for the steering and transmission), adaptive cruise control, a power rear sunshade and manual rear side sunshades.

The Sport package (also offered on the Premium Plus) includes a sport-tuned suspension, a three-spoke steering wheel, more aggressively bolstered seats and automatic transmission shift paddles. Optional rear side airbags are available on Premium Plus and Prestige trims only, but any A4 is eligible for wood interior trim.

definitely get a Premium+, you'll want the little features like trip computer, mirror compass, etc little convenient stuff, also the LED headlights.

and yes all 2012 Prem+ came with the s-line exterior package. the full s-line package includes the interior as well which has the black headliner, front sports seats, 3-spoke sports steering wheel (i think), and i think that's about it. but exterior is same, nothing different if you get the full s-line on the outside.

the sports package gives you the actual sports suspension and all that while s-line is just appearance, and if im not mistaken the sports package already includes the s-line look.

Thanks for all the help! I'm looking for a car that has bolstered seats, s-line body parts and B&O. Don't care about suspension since they would be upgraded. So am I looking for a sport package + B&O or Prestige with s-line?

Any known issues with the 2010 transmission? I found a 2010 avant that's exactly what I'm looking for.

no known issues with the tranmission, but i believe the 2011 and 2012s, or maybe just the 2012s, have the newer 8 speed auto transmission, while the 2009s and 2010s, and maybe 2011s, have the 7-speed i think, but the newer transmission is supposed to be much smoother. but its not a huge deal though the previous transmission is still good no problems. 2010s are still good and better than 2009s at least which will have a higher chance of oil consumption and other small issues.

you can get Prem+ with B&O and sports package options, will be the cheapest setup to get what you're looking for

That may be true for Canadian cars. He is in the US, where the breakdown is a little different per year/trim line.

2011 started with the 8 speed ZF gearbox, 2009-2010 comes with the 6 speed ZF box.
The 8 speed is light years ahead of the 6 speed and is much quicker 0 to 60 speed.

i highly recommend the 2011+ auto's, its much smoother and better geared than the 6 speed auto. better gas mileage at highway speeds also.

I agee in that the the 8 speed feels faster and at least to me is a more enjoyable drive. It always feels like I am in the correct power band with the 8 speed. If you are in love with the 2010 you should drive it back to back with a 2011+ with the 8 speed and see if the difference is worth it for you. Also the oil consumption issue seems to be less of an issue with later models 2011+, not sure on the 2010, but I am sure someone will jump in if that statement is far off the mark.

A few things, at least in the US:

S-line only comes on Prestige Trim (MY2012, full S-line is called "S-line Plus" while all P+ get s-line exterior).
Full S-line includes different seats than the sport seats, they come with alcantera inserts, also has s-line badging on interior.
Titanium package (blacked out headliner and trim, with upgraded wheels) not available with s-line package, excluding 2012 s-line exterior.

Thanks for all the help! I almost pulled the trigger on that 2010 but I will hold off and continue my search for a 8 speed transmission. If I do get the B8 avant, I'm planning on getting the APR Stage 3 kit so the smoother shifting will definitely help.

You will like the 8 speed. Just make sure you have them flush the fluid and change filter if it has high mileage. A little preventative care will prevent any issues with slushboxes.
