Here in the North East (NJ). We had some nice soft snow. Has anyone drifting in it yet?. I did for a few minutes in a Pathmart parking lot. Had more fun with the ESP off

I've been out driving all day drifting around in the snow while most everyone else is stuck at home. Thank the Quattro Gods

Some of the looks I got from other drivers were just downright hilarious.

I won a bet that I could get out of the driveway without clearing any snow. Even though I won, I still had to do the snowblowing...

definitely! That's the only reason i like the winter. there's plenty of no winter maintenance roads in pa a too. i have yet to have gotten myself in a jam that i needed someone to pull me out of. theres nothing like pulling up next to a lifted wrangler in a foot of snow and driving right by smiling.

How do I go about turning off stability control? I turn off esp when I want to have some fun but, if more fun is to be had, I want in!

How bad can drifting be for our cars in the snow? Weren't they designed with it sort of in mind?

On pavement I could see it maybe putting extra stress on some components but in the snow it shouldn't be that bad.

It's not bad for your car. Is it more stressful than going in a straight line? Sure. Is it anything that is ever worth mentioning? No.

Yep. Went into a completley unplowed area and it was fine at first, got briefly stuck with all the snow buildup and being so low, finally got out thanks to quattro.

Well just like everything beside driving like a grand pa will put more strain on all the parts. But did we buy the cars to drive like grand pa's? If that was the case I might have looked at a Buick........... Lol

i drift every chance i have. i love how pedestrians from a distance dont even notice.

theres a friend of mine who tells me awd cars dont drift, they simply powerslide. he pretty much ran out of arguments when i brought up how drifting techniques actually originate from rally racing.
