    Can't find long coding helper on VCDS, trying to disable amber lights.

    So I was trying to code my headlights to disable the amber when they are turned on. I don't have a clear corner, so for now this would be a great start. When following the steps I found in another thread, it says:
    Disable amber corner lights
    [09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 10
    Submodule 0
    Bit 3 - Set to 0 to disable amber side markers (U.S. vehicles)

    Within the coding portion of the cent. elect. section, there is no "long coding helper" on the VAG-COM I was using, 409-1 (I believe). How would I go about recoding them to disable the ambers without the long coding helper? If there is another way, or a simple walk through someone had that would be greatly appreciated. I was planning on trying to tackle something else next like the windows with the remote mod, but that one is a bit more complicated and if I can't get this simple one to work there is no way I am going to attempt that one yet.

    03 with factory Xenon headlights, if that helps.

    Our B6 A4s don't use Long Coding, that is why the helper does not appear. Also, the B6 does not have the capability for coding as many lighting options like the B7> does. The amber corner lamps cannot be coded off.

    If the long coding isn't applicable for my vehicle, does someone have another guide for mods for my vehicle, or specifically the one I am looking for? So far the only thing I have been able to do is clear my stupid auto leveling warning (happened when my car was lowered).

    Does this mean I can't disable my headlight ambers while my lights are on for the B6, or has someone figured out a way to do it? I thought I read somewhere someone said to change the headlights to rest of world setting and it should disable them... so if I read the instructions correctly for the new coding system, would I do: 00013 + 1(rest of world under country variation)?

    If you want the amber front corner lamps on with the headlights off, and parking lights on, then with the headlights on, the amber corners off, I don't know of any way to have that with a B6 Central Electric Control module. If you only want the amber corners disabled in all modes, then disconnect the circuit for the amber corner lamps. Then you will need to use resistors to prevent the lighting failure warning from sounding off.

    Is there a way to just disable the amber unless I am using my turn signals? Maybe I will just look in to some of those LED switchback bulbs to make them less ugly if this isn't possible or easy. Thanks for the help though, much appreciated.

    The front amber corner lamps use dual filament bulbs, one for the parking lamp, the other for the turn signal. Each filament is powered by a separate circuit from the CECM. You can disconnect the corner lamp without effecting the TS lamp function.

    I installed a B7 CECM in order to have the lighting options that module provides. It was a lot of work, I don't recommend anyone not experienced with wiring work to do this.

    Yeah, I probably won't. But after reading about the switchback bulbs needing a decoder or resistor to work, I will probably just skip that also. Oh well! :/
