Does the B8.5 fit H8 fog lights?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I asked this a while back but couldn't find the thread for it. I'm about to get some fogs for my car and want to make sure they fit. I found some reasonably cheaper ones on Amazon for under $20. Anyone think cheapers ones is not a good idea? How much did you pay for yours?

Yes, the B8.5 uses H8's. Also, I'd strongly recommend Hoen's H8 Xenon match fog lights: http://www.hoen-usa.com/fog.htm. Hoen H8 xenonmatch bulb pair 35w are the ones you want.

I checked those and they're $40 and differences compared to all the others? Only difference I see if the price and are the higher K numbers brighter like 2500K to 3500K?

I just ordered them. I'll post pics once I have them installed. I'm still considering doing Lamin-X to make the fog covers look yellow in the day time.

They are the closest match to our HIDs I've found so I spent a little extra plus everyone on here recommended them, I didn't want a shady bulb in my new S4.

I just ordered them. I also got some fog light stickers just in case the cover is not yellow enough in the day time. I'll post pics once I have them both. Now I just need interior LED's. I'm thinking I might get them from Krauto. Please shoot me any links to companies selling interior light bundles under $50 I think Krauto might set it up the best.

No a link to buy a set of interior LEDs. When you buy them from Krauto they come bundled.

I ordered the Ziza yellow bulbs for my fogs. The bulbs alone did not turn the clear lens a yellow tint, so I got Lamin-x for job. It is now very contrasted against my Estoril color. Also note: ECS was having issues with the template on the Lamin-x and it did not fit the b8.5 fog lens properly- they ended up having to order a sheet which I made my own template and cut out for the lens.

You can just piece together an interior LED kit from superbrightled for less than 50$. Part numbers are on sylvania's website.

Any concerns with a 60W bulb melting the fog light wiring harness?

Ok I'll have to piece together a kit. You say the part number for our lights are on the Sylvania website? I'm down for spending less money on small bulbs worth a dollar or two.

When I looked on the site one bulb was like $7.95? Is that right? Am I missing something there?

They're not 60W. That's some advertising nonsense. It is more like the brightness equivalent of a 60w incandescent. They're probably in the 10-15W range.

My Hoen bulbs will show up in the mail today. The yellow fog covers will arrive shortly. I'll put the bulbs in first and take pics to show you guys how they look. I hope not like one of those cheap Japanese cars. I can't stand those kind of mods. It's all European for me :)

The Hoen bulbs came in today. I tried to get out before it got too dark but no luck. I tried to take the OEM bulbs out but I noticed Audi changed how the slide out. How do the bulbs come out on the 2013? I need to get these in soon.

Edit: My b8.5 (2013) takes H8 fog bulbs (H11 were the cayenne cornering lights! doh!) . I didn't do the whole "take off your wheel liner bit" to access the bulb. I just pulled off the fog grill and there were (2) screws to remove and the complete fog housing comes out for easy access to the rear for bulb insertion.

I just looked at the OEM bulbs in there and on the back they say H8. Yours must be different. Hoen bulbs I have are H8 am I missing something?

You were right! H8...i just did my cayenne and you caught me in the middle of verifying and editing my post! sorry.

But for the fog grill...there's a lil hole where you can insert a allen key or something and pull straight out and the grill pops right off exposing the (2) screws. simple really.

I'm going to try that. Just don't want to break anything. Audi parts are expensive and I'm trying to use that money on mods. If I find someone that knows how to take them off that way I'll do it. I had a 2012 and it was really easy to go behind the wheel well. I'm going to do some googling for instructions.

So I've looked at the links in this thread and they all say H8/H11 which won't fit because the tabs on the two bulbs are not the same. How are you guys getting them to fit? Cutting the tabs?

Like I says I just came from looking at my OEM bulbs and on the back it says H8. I'm betting it's H8 for sure. Anyway I've got to figure out if I go in from the front grill pieces or the wheel well which I prefer but it might not be possible. They've changed it up from the B8 A4 I had last year.

They are deff H8. Finding LED H8s has proved difficult. I've already gone through two sets that didn't fit

Where did you order them from? I got mine from Hoen. I payed $50 but I feel a tad more confident. Did you try putting them in thru the front or in the wheel well?

That's what I'm going to do. I don't want to break shit especially those tabs. I don't like damaging things that cost $50K. It's enough just paying for it. Can't get to my mods if I'm paying for broken parts. I did manage to get to the bulb easily thru the wheel well I just need to find out how to get the bulbs unplugged and out.
