You can basically get it at any VAG dealer. The problem is, you need the reducer that darkside sells with the sensor.

EDIT: They sell that separately as well.

Really? I can get US only part numbers easily in Europe, thought it's the same the other way around as well. Someone should stack up on these in the US. I can even help out shipping a batch to the US.

Darkside FTW. If you're in a hurry I picked up a few spares, but I'd need it replaced.

Got it: But since we are on the topic of increasing boost levels (25+psi) is there anything else I should watch for?I already have rods, kinda uncharted territory for me..

rods is all you need. Next stop is determining which block you have... If yours is old APB style, watch out for mains, if later BEL style, you're in good shape.

I've been looking at the BOSCH PN# 0281002576 also. It's a 0.5-4 BAR MAP sensor (5v : 6.0-12.5MA) and can be had pretty cheap (2nd hand) here in Europe if you look hard enough...Not sure about in the US. It would not be an easy "plug and play" like the Darkside sensor w/ the spacer. Looks like you would basically just have to change the connecter, double check the pins, ect. Like I said...just noticed it and was toying with the idea... discuss...

Just read this old post Are BEL main (bearings?) really that much better/stronger?
When 'building' a 2.7T (and having the option), should I use a BEL?

The main bearings are the same, the main webbings in the block are beefier in the BF/BEL.

It's also worth mentioning that the OP cracked his mains just last year, maybe should have listened to julex from the begining :]

There is nothing wrong with cracking the block at the main bearings. Its just at what power level it occurred (I take a cracked block when putting out 1k HP).

But good to know that the BEL block casting is stronger.

Get BEL, cheap insurance against nasty surprises. And read that large mega thread about BEL vs APB blocks. It seems like sometime early MY 2001 2.7t were all BEL blocks already although on allroad/A6 platform the engines were technically still APB, not until MY 2003 they were revised and called BEL. You'd have to take a peek under the intake manifold, right next to throttle/PS, BEL blocks have a stamping in that area that can identify them.

Oh the good ol days Trayvon... funny finding an old thread on here with daz lol

FWIW I found a 4 Bar map to be slightly overkill for most of the Jabroni's on here.. If your running a ko4 car youll be fine with a 3bar and can be found at ETspec.com
