Hi guys. Anyone has any idea how to wire one of these? I have a wire from sender unit tha has to connect to one of the terminals, the other two I suspect are 12v and Ground. But no mater how I connect it either doing fuck all or goes all the way to max. Searcher everywhere no luck. Thanks

Ground the sender and then route the 5v wire from the sender to the oil gauge. Then ground the gauge, separately, and get 12v ignition power to the gauge. So summary

    Gauge :
    Ground to chassis
    12v of ignition power
    5v wire from sender.

    Sender:
    Ground to chassis
    5v wire to gaufe

Buy a fuse tap and just run the wire straight to the fusebox, if you run it to the battery the gauge never turns off til it drains the battery. But if you run it to ignition power or the fusebox, you lose accessories when you pull the key, saves your battery

Thanks a lot man it works! Quick question, any idea what oil pressure should we expect? At idling I get 20psi driving around 65-70psi. On cold start when warming about 60psi. Oil level is good.

That seems a tad low, but more or less in the range. It should get closer to 100 around redline.

These are specs from a 1.8t but it should be the same spec as the 2.0t:
    Cold Idle: ~80 psi
    Cold 2k rpms: ~90 psi
Cold 3k rpms: ~100psi (pegs the gauge)
    Hot Idle: ~24 psi
    Hot 2k rpms: ~50 psi
    Hot 3k rpms: ~70 psi
Hot at redline can still peg the gauge (100 psi).

Oh, damn, didn't realize it was lower. I added more discrete specs to my post above, but the OP should just ignore them.

To the best of my knowledge they vary, because when I ran the 1.8t oil pump I would see well over 100 psi, the gauge couldnt even read it, then when I swapped to the balance shaft it calmed down to 75 being the highest at warmup, there is some kind of valve in the BS, maybe an overpressure valve, or it may just be a check valve, and possibly the 2.0t FSI oil pump just pushes out less volume than the 1.8t?

Thanks Mec for that info.! That's pretty much what I get. I thought it was wierd that after warm up the pressure drops from 70 to 20... But I guess it all good.!
