Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi all,

Just fitted some DRL's to my b7 cabriolet. Wanted to know what others have done.
Post your pics so I can see.

    Here's mine:

I just posted a thread on how I did this for those interested.

Looks great! I wish I could see that on a set of bi-xenons, but I dig it.

Just bought a set of OEM bi-xenons that I blacked out and clear cornered, as well as installed LED DRL's and LED city lights. I haven't installed them on the car yet, since I'm still waiting on my kufatec harness and vag-com wire to come in the mail, but I will be installing the around December 15 when I get back from school. Here are pictures of it installed and what it will look like, in comparison to the stock DRL

I see most are not a fan if what I have done. I can see why, the lights I used are to straight and not a typical audi style.

However I'm happy with the way it makes the car much more modern. When driving around the LEDS are far brighter than most - much brighter than the b8 DRL's for example.

They certainly turn heads more now since I fitted the DRL's.

I've been modifying cars for few years, my mods always get mixed comments. :)

Someone who lives around by me, has a b7 with those after market b8 style headlights fitted.

I think they look poor, LEDs hardly noticeable, and they look cheap and not suited to the b7 shape. Id like to think my lights are better than those..?

    A4 B7 LED City lights

I have a B7 with Halogens, Here are the LED city lights bulbs that I just put in http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181262909039
And here is how they look...

Using these bulbs there was no CanBus error as the resistors are on the bulb.

that looks great can you tell me what led bulbs you used for the DRLs and city lights? are they both plug and play fitment? will they throw a bulb out code or need resistors? i am looking to do something like that to match my 5000k HID xenons but dont want to fiddle with resistors or worry about error codes or the bulbs frying the bulb socket or anything like that

My DS DRL went out earlier this week.

City lights and DRL are separate bulbs, both 1156?

I want to convert the DRLs to LEDs.

There are no DRLS and city light bulb replacements that match the OEM bi-xenons that are not LED? Hence no worry of overheating or bulb-out error?

I did this DRL exchange too, followed this http://nickscarblog.com/cars/b7-audi...ing-lights-drl
You will need resistors but they are easy to put in, and make sure the resistors don't rest on anything that can't resist a bit of heat, they get hot to the touch.
Had it for over a year now and still like them.

I'd like to see if you need resistors with those to stop the CanBus error.

What LED city lights are people using and do you need a resister like the DRL? I'd like more of a white than blue.

Any thoughts about the Ziza High Intensity LED Kit - City Lights from ecstuning.com?

I imagine they will still require a resistor. but who knows. Im not really looking for projected light as long as it fills up the light bucket fully during the day

How blue would you say? I have 6000K D1s bulbs and "cool white" city lite bulbs that match the HIDs perfectly.

Sorry but what colour were you expecting from 5000k LED? It is white not 4300k halogen yellow.
If you put them against Halogen of course they won't 'match'
They will be more like HID Xenon.

Wait, so is it 1156 for HID housings and 194 for halogen?

    I just ordered these

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/271125562704...S:3160&vxp=mtr

    and these

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/121062612394...S:3160&vxp=mtr

Im gonna see which ones are brighter, if the projector ones are good then ill order a set for my reverse lights as well. I cant see shit behind me at night with the tint from the last owner.

Are the reverse light 1156 as well?

Bumping this thread... I love my adaptive bi-xenon's but factory halogen DRL is lame... Will ANY canbus/"error free" 1156 off eBay or wherever work? And which ones actually put out a decent amount of light? I know many of them are more for reverse lights, etc... some claim 1200-1500 lumen, sounds like BS to me.

I haven't heard of anyone reliably buying an 1156 drl plug and play with no error. I have Phillips 1156 LEDs and resistors.

OK, researching more it looks like some of the very newest ones may have built in resistors and/or also pull a "real" 24w which should keep an error away... I'll have to be careful in what I select and report back here.

Edit: looks like these are one of the very few that are specifically compatible with Audi, as it seems our cars are THE most sensitive to Canbus errors.
