SQ5 -- Does white look too soccer mom-ish??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Think I'm going to pull the trigger on a SQ5. Time to say goodbye to the S4. The S4 is white, lowered, vinyl wrapped window trim, dark tint, looks great IMO. But a SUV... what are your thoughts on white??

It's in the eye of the beholder... sure... but curious if my thoughts are crazy. I think of a white SUV as feminine, soccer mom-esque.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

I think all Q5s look a bit soccer mom-ish, in the sense that it's a crossover. But they certainly can be made to look aggressive with a few mods.

You'll need a mild drop to get the stance like mine...

The Black Optics grille really helps IMO. Also, some H&R lowering springs would help as well.

Edit: Those ADV.1s on that SQ5 look perfect.

I love white. My previous 2 Audis were white (hence my username), but when I decided to get into SQ5, I had a hard time convincing myself to get another white. Since SUVs are naturally taller than cars, white reminded me of all the commercial service fleet vehicles which are mostly all white, more basic and generic looking. Another reason was the good amount of white SQ5's available at the time, while silver was nowhere to be found, so definitely more unique from that perspective. I'm very glad I went with silver instead of white, but ultimately it's a subjective choice and the car looks great in any color. Both white and silver are easy to care for, hide dirt and imperfections much better than darker colors. Good luck with your choice.

I actually am the opposite of ski haha, the last 3 cars I've had were silver. Super easy to maintain but always felt kinda boring to me. I was going to go for the estoril blue but my wife told me it looked girly. so it was down to red and black. Red is nice but to me only on certain cars; sleeker, sportier cars imo. That's why I went with the phantom black. doesn't get more BA than that. I do agree with ski on the white. not necessarily "more feminine" but definitely reminds me of a rental vehicle.

    Pros to white:
Top selling color across all US car sales, 25% of all new cars.
Easy to add custom "flame job" sticker graphics on the fenders.
$695 cheaper than a prettier paint job.

    Cons:
Looks like a soccer mom car or, a gay one. (No insult meant to either group.)

$700 can buy a lot of graphics or pinstripes or trim. Or, you can keep the money in your pocket.

What I can't figure is whether a white car would increase the resale value (because it is popular) or harm it, versus a "hard to find" real color.

Audi are real liberals, they offer twice as many standard colors as Henry Ford did on the Model T: "Any color you want, as long as it is black."
It followed me home. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Herr Doktor Strangelove is a mildly psychotic German on four wheels, sometimes mistaken for a 2014 Audi Q5 Premium Plus 2.0.

It doesn't matter what color the car is. It's what else you do to the car that makes the difference. (Like what you did to your S4) What makes an S4 any more manly than an SQ5 in any color? Nothing! A white shotgun is still a shotgun isn't it? Pull the trigger.

How many colors (not metallic) offered by BMW, Mercedes, Porsche or Volvo....... more than Audi

i've always associated dark tinted white suv's with drug dealers, in a badass kinda way. =) i personally love glacier white metallic. in time, i'd like to get some gunmetal rs4 7-spoke or HRE FF01 wheels on it. add a tune, and intake/exhaust for some auditory enhancement, and i'd be pretty set for a while.

A little drop with some big wheels will look awesome. But I might have a biased opinion.
