255/35/19 Tire with Wider Tread Width

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I search the wheel stickies and couldn't come up with anything. I purchased a set of Avant Garde M510's. They are 19x9.5 ET40. Currently I am on stock suspension, but will most likely slapping from H&R OE springs to get it a bit lower.

I am not CRAZY about the stretched look. Can you guys recommend some tires with a slightly wider tread width? I'd prefer A/S tires, but am open to summer tires. Just not sure what I should get keeping in mind 9.5 inch wide wheels, ET40, and wanting to go lower.

Will a 355/35/19 Continental DWS look stretched a lot? Will I have to have some stretch to get the wheels and lowering to work without rubbing?

Tirerack doesn't list the treadwidth on the DSWs, but the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 are supposed to be awesome for an A/S tire and has a 9.4" wide tread. The Hankook
Ventus S1 noble2 is 9.6" wide at the tread and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season is 9.5" are looking for in an A/S. That being said the DSW has a 10.3" section width so I am not sure you are going to get an improvement on that without switching wheels.

Can you post some pics of how it looks? I just got some Bridgestone LM-32 winter tires mounted on AG M590s of the same size and while they look a hair stretched they look awesome. Even the guys at the auto shop couldn't stop talking about them when I picked them up from getting mounted. That being said I wont have the car to put them on for a couple more weeks to see how they look on the S4.

    Hope that helps.

Sure! It probably won't be for a 2 or 3 weeks. Just ordered the wheels, and starting my search for tires. I am thinking I might just go with the Continental DWS. It looks like all tires will have some stretch.

Near Chantilly. I just had tirerack ship the tires to Curry's and then dropped the wheels off to get them mounted.

I assume you are NOT running these a/s in winter. Why not get summers then? 510 are awesome. With a little stretch (255 on 9.5) lowering will not be a problem. I don't like stretch AT ALL but 265 doesnt bug me. Conti DW is a nice wide tire. i just had a set and they were really good combo value and performance.

I will be running the tires year around. I would like to have summers and winters, but its just not feasible for me at the moment and don't want to deal with two sets. I may be moving from the east coast to the midwest, so I feel A/S tires may be the best for my situation at the moment.

You know... there is always 265-35-19 and 275-30-19.... I would not go 275 on ET40 though.
